Dreadball Miniature Sculpts - Collated List

I'm still on the fence with the whole DB thing. I actually like the original Space Marines and Orks, they're pretty cool models (not enough poses mind). Space Rats and Dwarves are not quite as good but still pretty cool.

Everything since then looks somehow inferior and has an odd, cartoonish quality. The female Space Marines are OK but all the alien//robot stuff just doesn't do it for me. The newer stuff all seems rushed in some way. The Patches coach is a dreadful mini IMO, dead and lifeless, and the dwarf coach's robot arm looks way too short. The rat coach (Which has got to be Splinter, right?) is kinda cool to use for BB but doesn't really go with the veermyn minis I don't think.

Props to Matic for not just working their way through the BB rosters like it seemed they would from the choice of the first 4 races, but I'm pretty sure now that DB is not for me.

Sculptingwise, I think they are mostly fine and some are even good.

The human will get 3 more sculpts for the basic players and they will also get a keeper. They also have several MVPs, which will give me the variety I need in a team.

I think the insects and really suck. From what I've seen, the elves will too.Judwan need more dynamic poses, or they will suck too.

Other than that, I think everything looks nice.

So: The biggest problem is the material they are cast in. It takes forever to clean up and they lack definition and hard edges. They feel like the bags of single colour toy soldiers you get as a kid. Rubber plastic.

I wish they could have offered the minis in another material, and I would have been very happy with everything.

Expansion packs are out for pre-order (8-9 miniatures per team), but only avaliable is the contents and a general photo for each box, so a bit hard to guess how many different poses or even how they exactly look.

Got the final shipment. No time to do pics but really the models are far better than the previous attempts. The prone models espcially are fantastic and a lot of the sculpts are far more dynamic. Using a slightly better material, holds detail better and from a quick experiment cleans up better. Indeed they need to re-jig their box sets so the basic team includes all the sculpts in the new material, would make it a far better buy.
