@ siggyllama - thanks much. I was really amused by the name, glad others are, too.

@ bound for glory - glad to be of help :D Make sure to post pics when you are done.

@ velvet mark - I've been a fan of their paints and washes. I will say that the future acrylic floor polish is what helped give the smooth deep color. The wash by itself just lightly colored the mini (as seen in the early pic). However, your mileage may vary!

The eyes are on the "to do" list. Purple and yellow were two colors I was considering. I'm planning on painting the tongues purple, so I'm leaning towards using that as the 2nd team color, but we will see!

Side note - get to painting! I need to see the samurats team finished!

Re: ChenZhen painting log - 1 team in 1 week challenge! - Sl

ChenZhen wrote:I really enjoy converting teams. I also have a ton of bits and odds and ends, so this means that there are plenty of hobby related distractions to fill up my time. Our local league is starting this Saturday, August 31. I am playing Slann in the league. I received the team in the mail July 22, however, I didn't do anything with them until the Sunday before our 1st Game Day!

So... as someone who champions playing with painted minis, I need to kick it into high gear to paint a team in 1 week. I'll post my progress (and eventually pics) as I go.

Sunday - clean up minis. Remove mould lines. Decide on style of base. Wash minis. Glue to base and putty gaps. Heat wave in Minnesota with no AC is rough!

Image

Monday - Get home from work. Our fans say it is 90 F in our house. I pack up slann and paints and go to the mom-in-laws house (with AC). Prime minis. Paint from 9-11. Get all flesh done. Fourteen frogs, inking in the interest of speed. Calling it a night.

Edit: now with WIP shots.
From which manufacture are they?

They were Greebo/Roll Jordan. Read below from the Roll Jordan website.

About the FF miniature line Added: June 23, 2013, 7:55 pm
I have received many requests to buy models from the old Rolljordan line, unfortunately this is not possible. I am currently undergoing a legal action against my old partner, and until this is done I will not sell any of the models. In the next 2 weeks I will be seeing my lawyer and start the legal process to solve the issue in court. I will post on this issue later if any sensitive update will arise.

Updated news for 2013 Added: June 23, 2013, 7:49 pm
Well here I am, no I have not been gone. In the past year I have actively collaborated with several other companies, and created my own that I have been running for the past 6 months. Rolljordan is staying, so don't worry :) I will actually update it by 2014 and probably merge it with the new company.

Love the slann minis. I only heard about the team+rules after joining these fine threads. How have they performed so far? I love my leaping W Elves, I bet slann can get everywhere:)

Hows the high Elf kit bash coming on? They were looking good:)

I've been having fun playing them! 1 win - 3 losses. Just starting to get some skills, which I feel with help! :D

I've not done any modeling or painting of late. School started up again, so that put a lot of other projects on hold. I'll get to the High Elves again, but there are a few teams that may have jumped above them.

I'll throw pics up here when they are finished!

Thanks much!

Your great looking High Elf team was what inspired me to convert a team of my own! Keep up the great work. After seeing your tutorial on sculpting with green stuff, I'm feeling more excited to try some green stuff work of my own. :orc:

Minor update. League Playoffs are end of the month, and I was going to be short a blocker for my Quarter Final Match. I had a few challenges as I really dislike playing with unpainted minis, I didn't have any extra blocker minis, and I didn't have a lot of time to paint.

As I was rooting around upstairs, I found a few test dwarves I had painted years ago for a Warhammer Fantasy army... in a blue and yellow paint scheme. A few weapon snips, base swaps, painting orange over yellow, and quick basing resulted in 3 new blockers.
Dwarf Journeymen.jpg
I plan on using them as journeymen, or for the rare occasions when I need to go over the 6 blockers that I own.

Nice finish to a great Dwarf team. They make nice Journeymen since they look similar but less ornate. Can't wait to see some flings!

Thanks much. Here's to hoping we meet in the finals! :orc:

I've been working on the 'flings. Almost all done cleaning them up, and will be starting to paint soon! Had to figure out how to get Deeproot's arm to fit. I will post pics of the team building process.

Slight delay on the 'flings. I am headed down to the 3 Die Brawl June 7. I could either take the dwarf team I have fully painted and ready...

or take a team that I've not not even started yet, but really want to play. I finished the Slann in a week, so I figure 11 days is more than enough time to start and finish a team!

Ten Day Tournament Team Challenge

Day 1 - Boring but necessary step. Cleaned up minis, and assembled. Still need to purchase 2 minis for the team, but arrived at the shop 6 minutes after close!

Will pick them up tomorrow.
