That's exactly the reason why I said I'd change his hand He was originally a catcher, which still doesn't explain the giant hand.
I'll add a few photos later on, also shaved off all the rest of the gems (from the loincloths and also the shoulder pads)

Here's a picture with their gems shaved off. (There's still a small gem on their chest, which I might remove as well.) There was also one right in the middle of the right shoulder pad, which wasn't shown in the previous pics.

The gem in the middle of the chest can either stay or go -- your choice. I think it'd look good either way. But the gems removed from the shoulders and loincloths look a LOT better for Dark Elves. Like, I mean, if you were going High Elves, the gems would've looked fine, but on those models as Dark Elves, without them is worlds better.

They are looking really good now!

I think that color scheme could work pretty well. I would surgest darkening the purple and prolly lighten the blue to make then resemble different shadings of a night sky. Possibly even add some stars to the effect.
The cloth under the armour could be white, if you're affraid the models will be to dark.

Looking forward to the complete team. They sure have the right attitude

Mostly finished now. Still missing all the highlights and most of the shading on the boots, etc. The reflections will be modified so they reflect however I base them (most likely autumnal colors, so there will be oranges and yellows mixed in the brown).

I wanted to keep the clothes and armour quite colorful, because the skintone and the hair are so monochromatic. I will of course add damage and all that stuff to the armor, so it'll come alive.

not a fan of the base models in truth, but I love what you've done with them to make them stoic looking DEs..

I would have gone with black leather, not brown, but then I'm into S&M..

can't help thinking they might look excellent painted as Drow...

I instantly thought DEs when I saw the models. Well, first vampires, then dark elves.

Drow was what I was kind of going for, not quite black, but grey, with a tint of purple (which doesn't show in the pictures) and white hair. Don't worry man
I tried black leather, but it looked boring. The boots will be a bit darker after shading

Really like your take on the DE, especially with respect to skin tone. Kind of makes me want to paint up some of my own... damn you...

Well, yeah, I might consider bleaching my own DE skincolor. The idea is nice.

Would still darken the purple and model in generel if it was up to me

Ok, so I haven't painted anything new. I've just been playing with new models, of which some can be seen here.



Some basic stuff for a new chaos dwarf team (Which incidentally means the team featured a page or two ago is for sale, if anyone's interested). Blockers made from two forgeworld command groups, some greenstuffing and mutations etc. nothing major. Bulls will be some sort of spider centaurs or driders - only with a dwarf upper half (Reaper bones drider bodies with forgeworld upper halves). Hobgoblins will most likely just be some pale human slaves. Maybe Heresy dark brethren cultists, if they come out in plastic?





Chaos pact marauders from The Russian Alternative. I've admired the sculpts for a while, quite nice and um, chaos-y. Also available in resin, which made the stuff in the picture below a breeze...



...Shaving off all the daggers and unwanted bits. Some greenstuffing required for the loincloths



Dark elf renegade made from the new dark elf kit, left out the cloak, this will also need a bit greenstuff on the hood. Plus a mino from Hasslefree, will probably magnetize the head.



While a figure out what to do with the goblin/crab people for the underworld team, these will fill the void. Blitzers and a thrower. I can get the missing thrower as soon as Pedro Ramos finishes his meiko ratmen team
