Re: Kalle amateur sculpted Ogre and Imps preview
I like these a lot. They have a lot of character and that is more important to me than clinical and soul-less execution (a la everything GW has been churning out of late)
Is there room for improvement? Sure, but as amateur sculpts I give them an 8 out of 10 and would have strongly supported adding them to the Impact range if I still was with the company.
The legs on the snotling worry me from a fragility perspective. Otherwise awesome stuff!

Re: Kalle amateur sculpted Ogre and Imps preview
Since Chris has shown them off on Twitter earlier this year ... they are not a big secret ... here are links to the pictures of all the sculpts for the team. Hopefully the KickStarter will launch by Thursday and the initial funding goal is pretty low to cover the costs of mastering and production moulding up the team. We also have stretch goals planned for every $1000 after the funding goal in order to add more value to the backers who are picking up a team.

Ogre #3 I like, others and the Imps not my cup of tea, sorry. The ogre in the first post has more of a troll feel to me.
Still, much, much better than anything I could manage - hope they do well for you.

To me the ogres are comical without being stupid... a big plus and, if I didn't have all the old gw ogres, I would be spot on to buy them! Especially the one pointing and laughing....
The "snots" are a miss for me, but no doubt someone else' treasure....
I'm glad they will see the light of day... a different take and verrry refreshing look....

I adore the ogres, whilst they might not have that professional finish they are swimming in character. If I was putting together a human team one of the two on the far right (top and bottom) would be my first pick.
I'm not the biggest fan of the imps but the bottom row has cheeky charm.

Sign me up. Love the 2 ed feel of these, plus the scale is spot on. I'll be backing this, 100%.

These are FUN and full of character in a accurate scale and at a GREAT price point! I'm personally not shopping for more teams but I could recommend them to people for a team with limited figures available. GREAT JOB!

Cut off the head and hand of imp#6 and put it on a goblin body...hmmm.

Originally had not set up an option to just get one. To make them affordable we family moulded all 6 together. Let me crunch numbers and see if I can come up with price that would let you select an Ogre.Norse wrote:depending how the kickstarter is set up I could see myself picking up an Ogre or two for sure.. Re: Kalle amateur sculpted Ogre and Imps preview
Looks like I best I can do because of the single mould for the team is I'll be able to do $24 (shipping included for US (+$4 for international)) and you'll get 3 Ogres ... one that you get to choose and 2 that will be random but different.Norse wrote:based upon some of the other comments above it might be worth your while..GalakStarscraper wrote:Originally had not set up an option to just get one. Re: Kalle amateur sculpted Ogre and Imps preview
Considering the title of the thread was amateur sculpted Ogre and Imps, I was pleasantly surprised by the standard of these minis.
Unlike many of the others, I quite like the Imps. I think they have a lot of character. I don't mind the look of the Ogres either, but the Imps are definitely my favourite.
