Plastic dark Elf team Conversion
Im hoping to create my own Dark Elf Team from some Games Workshop Kits. I am planning on using these 2 to create a full team.
Dark Eldar Wytches
Dark Elf Corsairs
Any body done a similar conversion? I was hoping to use the Corsair Heads for Linemen, the Female Wytchs for Witch Elves and Male Wytches for Blitzers, and possibly the Helmeted Wytch Heads for Runners.

Re: Plastic dark Elf team Conversion
I was planning on doing much the same in time for the NAFC next year, my only reservation is that the team would look too 40k (more Dreadball than Bloodbowl) but that ain't necessarily a bad thing. I really like the idea of the female/male wych split for the witches and blitzers.
If I I do try to make it more WHFB than WH40k, I'm considering using Corsair legs + Cold One Rider bodies and helmeted heads as blitzers, a sister of slaughter as a witch elf and Corsairs (with no helmets) as linemen.
If you use the Corsairs bodies are you going to remove the cloaks? If you do there may be a lot of green-stuffing needed to repair their backs after the cloaks have been removed.

ps - I know this in no way answers your questions, I just wanted to share some similar thoughts on the same subject without trying to derail the thread

Re: Plastic dark Elf team Conversion
I made a couple of test Dark elf models a while back, one using plastic dark eldar and the other using dark elf bits (with a shadow warrior head). But this was before the new dark elf plastics came out. The witch elves have a lot of potential and the black guard/executioners would be great for blitzers.

thank you. if I were to add in inks I wouldn't mind so much, but they look like they have been dropped in flower. one day I will get them stripped and re-doneGinjasy wrote:Thats the look Im after. Nice work there, TBH Im not the best painter either so if mine come out looking like that Id be happy.

here is my shot at it, i used only the cerasts and some wing flyer (i don't know their names)

some other wip and misc shots can be found here:

at first i wanted to use the wb assassin but finally i used one of the knife that are in the box and it fits pretty well.
i still do have an assassin2 and runner2 fully mounted and undercoated in my painting stack

Looks awesome. I like the paint scheme too. Like an Arctic Dark Elf team.

I was about to ask you why don't use the new plastic witch elves with the corsairs but then I saw their price. I've seen quite a few teams made using the Eldar Wyches and they look great but a little futuristic for my taste.

I quite like the futury (is that a word?) look.
This guy would make a sweet Assasin too, minus the base maybe?
