Alternative Slann
I've yet to find any affordable Slann that I like so I'm looking for ideas on alternate ideas.

Re: Alternative Slann
I have been struggling with this as well. Here are a few ideas I've had.
My current solution is a team of skinks with different color skins for different positions. It leaves a lot to be desired but is functional.
In the Reaper Bones miniatures I have looked at using the following:
Linefrog: http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Bones/latest/77187
catcher: http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Bones/latest/77189
blitzer: http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Bones/latest/77186
Krox: http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/t ... down/77152
or maybe http://www.impactminiatures.com/index.p ... id=TC_SRLV
Sometimes Kroot go for ok prices on ebay.
I'm not thrilled about these ideas, but may end up going the bones route. I really like the Roll Jordan/Greebo, Gaspez, and Goblin Forge Frogs but they are all out of my price range at the moment.

Frogs from Eureka Pond Wars? Maybe wrong size, but they sure are cheap with packs of 4 spearfrogs for 9 buck in their USA branch.
If the bases are 25mm, the size looks aceptable. Big guy could be a toad (cavalry), terrapins seem to be smaller than frogs.

Depending on what you call affordable. Gaspez Arts have a nice frog team, but I don´t know whether or where you can get them in the US.

I was just about to bring it up! Horned Frogs are finally coming back on the market and with a reasonably priced indiegogo campaign:Pedda wrote:What about the Slann from RJ?

Alternatively, if you're into pinning and gluing, Impact! has some excellent looking conversion kits:

Re: Alternative Slann
Thanks for the Indiegogo link el Superbeasto! $65 is actually a lot for me because I'm cheap, but having had the great pleasure of painting the below frogs for Chance of 3 Die Block I am hooked and need my own now. I've just pledged for a team.

Re: Alternative Slann
well, i guess i can post something, as i own every frog team on the market(just got the newest team from comix).
the best team, imo, is the RJ team. the only problem, if there is any, is the ankles are a bit thin, and i had to pin a few because they were damaged in post.
the impact! conversion kits are a "iffy" propasition. again, imo, there are a few problems. the metal is a bit harder to sand, file, cut. and the mold lines are a pain in the ass. i felt i had to dig into my vast bitz box and put new hands on a couple of arms becase the cast hands were badly sculpted. and to be frank, looked goofy.
also, the arms are quite bland, in reguard to what they look like and what they "could have looked like", if you get what i mean. and if you rush the assemble, they show it. i took a few weeks, assmbling one figure here, 3 there, and believe me, i had to take my time. and i'm no "golden demon" level painter or assembler.
the heads are nice. the armor plates are kinda ok. i did'nt use, or see a use for, some of the smaller plates.YMMV.
bottom line? i really don't think there was much research and or sitting down and playing around with the kroot bodies from games workshop and the conversion parts impact! made.
again, this is just my opinion.

Another affordable option is the Mano di Porco Slann Team:

I have the Greebo Horned Frogs team - glad I do, as I won't get them from Rolljordan.

Because... hmm, put a few reasons here, but most probably not appropriate for a mod to post. Let's just say that there were only GW and RJ making Blood Bowl figures, I'd rather buy from GW.

Fair enough. I'm just happily ignorant about the dispute.Darkson wrote:Because... hmm, put a few reasons here, but most probably not appropriate for a mod to post. Let's just say that there were only GW and RJ making Blood Bowl figures, I'd rather buy from GW.

Crying out for sergus or poncho to do a team in my opinion. I have the greebo ones and try are ok but a little slim and there are only two catchers and their ankles keep breaking.
