I used to think the same about Phils teams, but over time my stance has changed (no pun intended).

I got a bit fed up of people constantly asking me "What is that one again?" when trying to work out which were blitzers and which were catchers etc.
I really like these Divine Wind figures. So much so I might actually pick up my paintbrush again and finish them off sometime in the next decade

hi mate, is the stubble effect produced using a wash?

no its done by adding a little bit of purple paint to your main flesh tone. The trick is to apply it very sparingly and its done after all the shading and highlighting.

ooh cool, think i will give this a shot. its an effect ive wanted to try for a while and wasnt sure if washes or adfing a colour to the base colour was the way to go.

I haven't picked up a paint brush in a while now (several other projects on the go!), but once again I find myself in need of raising some funds so I need to get this team finished so I can sell it.
My original intention was to keep it, but there you go....

So, thread necromancy alert - I thought I might as well keep this thread updated.

This is a close-up of the second ninja that I completed a while ago but never got round to photographing:


And here is the remainder of the team. I spent last night putting on a very flat basecoat so I could plan out colours etc.


Because I'm no longer painting this team for myself personally and will be sold on ebay, I won't be investing in coaches, cheerleaders, backroom staff etc. Firstly because it probably wouldn't be worth it financially, and secondly because of lack of my available time!

Well, after another long break I've picked these up again.

I got all the blitzers completed, with subtle changes to the colour scheme for each to tell them apart.


Here are the catchers, almost completed (I just need to add grass to the base of two of them.)
I decided to distinguish them by choosing their head gear to match seasons, so green is spring, yellow for summer, red for autumn and black for winter.


And here are the Linemen

I've had to give them all a distinguishing feature because they don't have much in the way of uniform to play around with colours. So...

This is Scar....


....and here is Fu Manchu.....


...and finally, Tattoo


the other two (Plain old Hondo and Stubble) I photographed previously, but they're all here in a group shot. Again, not quite complete but almost there.


A few finishing touches to these, then the other catcher to paint and this team is ready to roll!

Thanks Naz, they turned out much better than I expected if I'm being honest.

Well, after several months of inactivity interspersed with the odd mad flurry of painting, they are finished.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, circumstances dictate that I am in need of some ready cash, so I'll be putting this team up for sale on EBay as soon as I get chance to take some better photographs.
I'll post up a thread in the "For Sale" bit when I've started the auction.
