Caged Maiden Wardens: 7 Ogres

Post by Akka »

Hi, TFF! I really enjoy browsing this forum for cool paintjobs and conversions so I decided to share this weird team I put together for a local tournament.
It's my Ogre Count-as team; Caged Maiden Wardens. I was inspired by a short story from Codex: Chaos Daemons about how the Eldar godess Isha was saved from Slaanesh by no one other than Big Papa Nurgle. Since then she's been caged up in his lab for testing!

Rules-wise I play them as an Ogre team with 6 Ogres, 5 Snotlings and Bertha Bigfist! The tournament (DOUBT V) had a change of rules this year that finally made it possible to field 7 Ogres at once, so I just had to do it.

With the paintjob I wanted to stay away from the common green skin that Nurgle daemons have, partly to separate these "ogres" from the River trolls they are based on.

Simply amazing !) !)

What's the deal with player(s) 27&30?
Is it still one player or a turn marker?

Amazing looking team, and a great choice of fluff to base an ogre team on.

Wow, thanks guys!
And Pedda, the trio 27&30 also includes #11, but since there is also a #11 on a solo base I decided to not make it more confusing than it already is :D The way I see it, they are so small and useless the ref doesn't even bother to count the snotlings. 27&30 is still just one snotling, usually in my reserves.

+1 to all the above.

Where's the Elf figure from, or is it scratch-built?

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Looks like it might have started life as a forgeworld eldar titan maybe, with an inquisitor head.

Pure speculation of course :)

Darkson: Oh god no, I am nowhere close good enough at sculpting. It's a Dark Nova figure from Andrea Miniatures, and a dang pretty one :)
