Need some suggestions for Dark Elves

Post by lawquoter »

My quest for a BB team for every NFL team continues. The next team for which I need to acquire the appropriate models will be Amorica's Team, the Malice Cowboys. 8) Like most of the teams I've painted or had painted, I try to go with the NFL uniforms (with a few exceptions). I'd really like most of these guys to have the Cowboys uniform with the star on the helmet, the problem being, of course, that most Dark Elf models are more elfy than footbally (or have conehead helmets not conducive to the look). So here's what I'm thinking for some of the positionals:

Assassins:

http://www.darkswordminiatures.com/shop ... assin.html

Runners:

http://heresyminiatures.com/shop/index. ... ucts_id=99

Blitzers:

http://www.comixininos.com/blood-bowl-t ... tures.html

(although I'm not crazy about that model, but it could be because of the paint job).

For witches, I've got lots of choices, and might try to find the new GW sculpts via an alternate route.

I don't really have any other ideas for the linos or better ones for the blitzers. I have lots of options for "spartan/300" style models, but it won't work with the look I want to create. 5th Ed Human Linemen have the helmets, but I'm afraid that it will detract from the D.Elf look I still want.

Any suggestions? :?:

Some of the night elves from Impact may work: http://www.tritex-games.co.uk/impact-mi ... t-elf-405/

I like the painting idea. I love the cowboys look...especially the cheerleaders :)

You may want this one for a cheerleader or others in this section:

Definately one of the best (if not THE best) cheerleader miniatures on the market!

The cheerleader is great, and will be on the team. 8)

I guess I could do the Night Elves, but it's still not quite footballish enough for what I was aiming for.

I cut up and filed down GW Cadian helmets for my dark elves. Most IG players will have a million of them lying around and you can put them on any model's head. Bend a bit of wire and you have a simple but appropriate face guard. Didn't do chin straps myself but they aren't out of the question either
