House rules.

Post by NightDragon »

Another question. Anything wrong using the coaching experimental rules from a while back as a House rule(?), or would that enable teams like the Lizardmen become too strong as they would be able to pick up a passing coach?

There have been tons of house rules about assistant coaches. You'll have to be more specific and give us the whole text of this specific house rule.

I'm 90% sure Zombie that he's talking about the rule where you give one player a Personal Trainer for 50k and then when he rolls for a new skill on a 2+ roll he can act as if he had access to that skill.

For example for 50k I buy my Skink with 5 SPPs a Passing Trainer. On his next skill roll, I roll for the Trainer and get a 3, so when I roll a normal skill for him, I could give him Pass.

Many coaches would tell you this is unbalanced for the reason that player are omitted from having skill access for a reason. The MBBL2 has had these rules since we started and not really noticed them impacting the game. Certain teams (like the Lizardmen) it would effect more than others.

Galak

It's unbalanced all right.

Used it for a bit, then ditched it. Too open to abuse and unbalancing.

That was what I was referring to Galak, nothing much misses you does it! So it seems there is a difference of opinion, my gut reaction is unbalancing, but if you say the MBBL2 has been using it for years thats interesting. This will need more thought!

Try it out, give it a whirl, and make your own decision.

Unforunately I'm Leagueless at the moment, and can only play games with my brother, but that is a solution I agree.

If you are bigger than him, tell him that you are playing with some new rules, and thats final.

If he's bigger than you, tell him that if you try out these rules for a few games, you will do some of his chores.

Than again, I'm an only child, so what the hell do I know :o

24 a child! I think not. I'm working on converting him, but he's more into 3rd ed than even I was. Looks like I will be playing games against myself soon!
