Painted team - 3rd edition plastic orcs

These are the guys out of the box. I had (still have) a painted 2nd edition metal orc team, but when the 3rd edition box set game out I remember being blown away by the quality of the plastic miniatures in the box. Different models for each position rather than the standard lineman pose of 2nd edition and the quality and detail was just astounding to the young me.

I started painting these when I was younger...but growing up must have stopper me before I got further than painting more than one or two. I picked up another set cheap on eBay so that I could have all of the positionals - I am a bit of a completest.

Haven't played with them yet but am looking forward to giving them a run out one day.

Colour inspiration was taken from the Orcland Raiders.

Nice team, I know they are based on the raiders but the colour scheme is also reminiscent of the team from Gotham in the dark knight rises

The yellow is nothing special. It's the GW Averland Sunset with a wash of Casandora Yellow followed by, a very dry, dry brush of Hexos Palesun. So literally straight out of the book. Oh they were primed with white so that may be helping.

I think they were the very first plastic minis that I painted as well so I was extra pleased with the outcome. Did feel odd when holding them as I'm used to the heft of a metal mini.
