ST Broken Bull Centaur question

Post by swilhelm73 »

I made the playoffs in my league and just finished the first round playoff game. I pulled out a hard fought win...a VERY hard fought win - I took strength breaks on a lvl6 Dwarf, a lvl 6 BC, and a movement break on a Mino (I managed to apo an armor break on another dwarf to a BH).

So now the question is how to rebuild my team for playoff round 2...I currently have 16 players since I went into the first round with some MNGs. I'll drop 2 or 3 of the rookie hobs depending on what I do with the other players.

My team currently;

http://bbm.jcmag.fr/BloodBowlManager.We ... lang=en-US

and my opponent (khemri)

http://bbm.jcmag.fr/BloodBowlManager.We ... lang=en-US

I'll replace the chaos dwarf since he is niggled+strength broken.

Losing a point of MA on the Mino isn't the end of the world, but he'll miss next match if I keep him and he only has regular skills.

The Bull Centaur is the most interesting question. It will also hurt to be missing him, and a strength break really hurts. OTOH he is still capable as a ball carrier (he is currently leading the voting for league MVP).

If I replace everyone...and drop 3 rookie hobs...I'll have 260k in inducements. If I keep the BC (and a rookie hob) I'll be at 390k.

Thoughts?

I'd actually keep him (I may be the only one to vote this way though...) AG3, Blodge, sidestep, surehands. He's taking a lot of TV up, but is going to be quite useful. You'll need to weigh that up against the need for 2 BCs in your next game though. He won't ever play like a BC again, but he looks like a tasty player still

Didn't read before I voted. -ST, -AV, and niggle are all automatic cuts in my book. -AG and -MA, depends on the player.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Out of interest, the ST busted Blocker - was he cas'ed via the niggling injury? IIRC he's the one you debated cutting earlier, now Nuffle has made the decision easy!

I don't think so. My opponent was rolling a lot of natural 10+s.

And looking at it on the plus side now I don't have the tough decision as to who to put on the line as I'll have three poorly developed dwarves.

Ouch, that was a tough game :|

I would fire and re-buy the Bull.

Long term, I don't want to put more spp on a crippled player.
Short term, a rookie bull is better than a rookie Hob for the next game.

Now, thinking out loud...
Maybe you can buy an extra reroll for the next game/till you got some sure hands (don't checked the possible incentives, though): in the meantime carry the ball with the Blodge/Break Tackle/S-step Bull. Those Khemri got only 2 tackle, on the Thro-Ra (but a Strip Ball  )... I'm almost wondering about some sure-hands merc :-?

Edit: play-off? Can you take merc or Star Players?

Yeah, 4 injuries and all serious stat breaks...odds are 1/81 (death+stat break =1/3 of CAS rolls) ...

I dropped the BC and replaced him...and his replacement was 2/2 on picking up the ball and scored both touchdowns for the win.

I'd cut him, but then I run the ball with the hobbos.
