Not sure yet. I need to get to a point where I can figure out the total cost to make this happen. I'm currently guessing we'll need between $7k to $10k to make all 17 teams.

So one of the plans we are kicking around right now is an "early bird" pledge level where you can get any 5 teams (including more expensive upgraded or deluxe versions) for $150 with a 50 backer limit on the level. That is one idea that we are looking at.

The basic teams are $35 each ... upgraded teams are $40 and deluxe teams are $45.

So the one team level will be for $40 (with $5 add-on for upgrade and $10 for deluxe)
Two teams will likely be $75 (again with add-ons for upgrades (which will be true for all reward levels))
Three teams will be like $105
Four teams for $135
Five teams for $160
Six teams for $185
Seven team for $205
Eight teams for $230
Nine teams for $245
Ten teams for $260
Eleven teams for $275

Not hard and fast in stone ... but that will be the basic layout plus a couple levels to get just the Band of Orcs or limited edition pewter copies of the Elf or Orc team

Nope. I do appreciate that article Chris very much. But the bottom line is we factor in the 10% loss on the shipping costs for international into our KickStarter model already and it has worked for us many times. This 17 FF team KickStarter will be the 16th that we've run ... so I'm very comfortable with our model. Trying to collect shipping charges after the KickStarter would be the best way to do it financially for the company but it is just so much hassle to handle for that 10% loss.

As for his explanation ... yes I get the markup factor he talks about ... but we have ways to factor for it.

So all good and thanks!

Tom

Another preview of one of the 17 teams. Phil Bowen came out of sculpting retirement for us to create 5 extra figures for the Divine Wind team. The Trollcast version for $35 will have 2 copies of each of the 9 miniatures (18 total miniatures in the team for $35).

Outstanding! I really like the thrower addition, and the overall look of the team!

I like them very much.
If the same could be done for the Araby team, it would be perfect.

Perfect. :)

By the way, I received Kalle Ogres and the rest of the miniatures on Friday and they are awesome.
Can't wait for another KS.

I'm off for a bike trip across a good swath of western Europe at the end of May, so this is terrible timing from my bank account's point of view... I might spring for one team at the KS, assuming fair shipping up to Canada, but really can't do more with needing to budget for the holiday.

On the other hand, all of these newly Trollcast teams will still be around after the KS!

Really looking forward to the campaign and would be interested to know, if there is any kind of newsletter where I could sign up so I don't miss the start if the campaign. Unfortunately I am not on these boards as much a I would want to :)

I also have another question about the trollcast material: when I got the Sarcos team it looked like the different miniatures had been cast in different materials. Some of them were dark grey and others were a lighter grey. I am not able to describe it any better than that, but I liked the darker grey a lot better, as it seemed to me that the details were even better with that material. Does anybody know what I am talking about? If so, which of those two types will be the material for the upcoming Kickstarter?

I haven't compared them yet, but I got some models recently where the body was one color plastic and the attached parts were another. They glued together fine, but I haven't painted them up. I didn't notice a difference in detail while assembling it.

I think the darker is the new formula, but I could be wrong. I know both Tom and Ed (at Trollforged) have said he (Ed) is constantly refining the mixture.
I know the first Chibi figs were different from the second wave.
