Khemri ideas

Post by outcast »

Hi all, thinking of starting a khemri team. Can you share your ideas about figures to use (aside from the ones in the "alternatives to GW" sticky)?

Pictures/links would be awesome.

Thanks

Crocodile Games has some that could fit. And the first post of the thread you mention is lacking Neomics too.

I just ordered a set of Willy minis, but that Crocodile games link is cool!

Scarab Ogres as Tomb Guardians could be cool...

Possible cheerleader?

And Another?

Impact's $35 Pharaohs of Vihktora team with 22 men is a price that can't be beat, but one other cheap option I came up with is from Reaper bones:

Bltzra - $2.49 each
Image

Throwras - 3 for $5.49 (The shield is a bit of work to clip, but Bones material is easier to carve than any other mini material)
Image

Tomb Guardians - $2.99 each (I envision painting a cracking sandstone)
Image

Skeletons - 3 for $5.49 (These mummies are small, good lineman size, and what is a mummy but a skeleton with wrappings)
Image

or more traditional looking skellies - 3 for $4.99 (I prefer the mummies)
Image

So a 14 (15 if you use the extra throwra as a skellie) man team for $33.50 or add on the extra 3 linemen for $39 which will get you free shipping from Reaper.

Good call on the Reaper Bones team!

Hmmm ... curious about what other teams you could make from that line.

Thanks for all the input folks. I think I'm edging towards the willy ones at the moment. I think they look awesome.

It's great to see other peoples takes on the team, though.

The reaper ones look interesting - I'm just not confident I have the conversion skills to deal with them !

I've been rummaging around the Bones catalog wondering about BB team conversion fodder, but I'd missed the potential for a Khemri team and the range of undead stuff there. Saved for posterity and possibly my next BB team!

Thanks for the listing... I wonder how many other teams can be sourced entirely from the Bones lineup right now?

I reckon you can make a bdecent Nurgle team from the Deep ones package plus the winged cthuloid beast. The kobolds might work for underworld goblins? Speaking of which, there are goblin team options aplenty in the pathfinder range and with the tolls on offer. Plus I recently offloaded a load of minis to a mate recently (pdarby on cyanide and nzbbn) for his necro team; there are loads of good options for wights, zombies, golems and sideline staff and markers in the Bones 1 range.

Neomics posted a photo of a painted version of their Khemri team just today on Facebook.

These paints make the team look much better than the version they have on their web site! (The paints on the site look great, but the site design just makes them kind of hard to get to.)

My mistake. I've only seen them on the Neomics site. It's impossible to keep track of all the sculptors, manufacturers, and retailers without a scorecard! :?:

I painted either teams(the khemri of gaspez posted above are mine) and i find both great teams
I really think that best combo will be mummy and blitzra from willy and throra and skeleton from gaspez but the star player from gaspez is interesting too like blitz ra
Mummy of willy are really huge, i used a 30mm round base for them but i have the imression that blitzra was a little bit tall in reality than the photos

But now that i see this reaper version i am really intrigued to try them
I must contact european seller of reaper :)

Thanks for all the ideas - I've went for the Willy team in the end. They aren't the cheapest but you seem to get a lot of metal for your money!

Will post some picks when (if) I eventually get round to painting them! :-)
