Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
A forum for football mini's talk.......painting, converting etc. etc. or showing off great accessories that make playing the game easier, cooler or more fun.
I've pledged to the custom dice Kickstarter that's been discussed a bit here on the forums. I'm working ahead on my dice design. I don't want anything fancy, just something a little bit fun, and particularly, something in black. I'm putting up a first draft to see what people think. (I definitely have ideas of my own of what's working and what's not--I'd just like some uninfluenced opinions.) The differences between the versions are small, but, again, I kinda know what I want. Anybody who has critiques or suggestions, please speak up!
Colored dice and inks are available, but at the moment, only one color ink per side (unless we get printed dice instead of engraved, and that's a non-starter!)

Heff...Keeping the Dwarf (and lego) hate alive
If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.
Top left or bottom left for me. I prefer top left, but the exclamation point is too thin that I think it'd be hard to see on a die. If it were fattened/thickened, it'd be perfect.

Top left set
Make the exclamation mark bigger and an outline
Use green fill on the arrows
Use red on the skull
Use yellow on the 3 sides with a flash, but leaving the skull and exclamation mark uncoloured (so essentially black)
Colour coding will mean instant recognition 50% of the time and easy differentiation on the other 50%
I like the designs and those in with the black backgrounds are my faves.
But one thing I found from my own experience of getting custom dice made is that they look quite different in the "flesh" compared to drawings.
Bear in mind that the shapes are cut into the dice so the arrows on the left side will be large voids, often with lots of small ridges. The same is true with the skulls where there will be a large empty area cut into the dice and a few small bits sticking up for the eyes, nose and teeth.

Would love to see how that looks!
So would I, but for now we're being limited to one color per side. Otherwise it would have been green arrows, yellow flashes, white skulls! I may get ones just printed in white and hand-ink some.

In the FAQ it says you can have differently coloured faces at (at $1 a face iirc).

It says +1$ per dice if you want a different color for each face. Might be cheaper if less colors. Might also ask them for the dice to be engraved but not painted so that you can handle it youself.
If the project turns out fine, it is an affordable way to get small amounts of fully custom dice!
Colour is great because it is so easy to see instantly.
-> over the !, definitely. The ! was always a design flaw imo, people just adjusted to it. Defender stumbles is a POW (*), that is a Push (->) if the defender has dodge. Introducing a 4th symbol was bad design on GW's part.
