Blacknexion's Underworld (Tongue and some armour 24.5.)

Just conversions this time around. Obviously I've been very, very lazy. Besides these I've been converting a carnival of chaos warband for Mordheim and a scavvy gang for Necromunda. If someone wants to see those, I can upload images in the "other miniatures" section.


New hobgoblins for my chaos dwarf team. Added some armour, will probably paint it up as painted leather (av 7).

Looking for a suitable minotaur still, maybe one of the Allan Carrasco ones, just sculpt some armour on. I should paint something soon, before I forget how it's done

Finally got my nurgle team back a few days ago. If you're not familiar with the story, I sent them to be painted to the guy I did a similar project with my previous chaos dwarf team.
Long story short. He had some personal issues, the team was with him for over 9 months (not even a personal record, my orc team was with a painter for almost three years! Fun fact - I received both of these teams back the same day).
When I got them back, he had totally phoned it in. The original idea was for him to do the basecoat and some washes, and I'd finish them. The minis I received back looked like a 10 year old's first paint job.

So I had to start from scratch. Removed paint from most of them, or just painted over them.

Here are some of the rotters and the beast.
I've only been working on the skin so far, basecoat, highlights and heavy handed washing. Next up, blending and some more washes.

this paintjob isn't really to my tastes nexion, obviously Nurgle need to look diseased etc, but the almost purple shading on the skin doesn't look quite right to me.. I haven't studied diseased people I'm pleased to say, but I doubt they look this "multicoloured" - I could be wrong though... also, the arm stuck to the BoN tongue, I would have made that freshly severed, right now it looks like he ate a zombie, and I would hope that BoN prefer fresher meat in their diet...

nothing "wrong" with this per se, just not how I would have done it. shame about your pro-painter screwing you over though, the work he did on the CDs was sublime (which is why I told lawquoter to buy them! ).. just goes to show..

Google gangrene, I dare you that's kind of what I was going for. I haven't done anything to the severed arm yet. That's how the painter left it. As for the chaos dwarves looking good. I'd take most of the credit for that for myself... I have one rotter untouched, in the condition it arrived. I can take picture of that if you want

Didn't pay him and am not going to. I was pretty close to driving up there and collecting the team in person.
Google it it goes from red, to purple, to almost black.

Quick update, since I'm finally getting some painting done.

I'm going to go a bit overboard on highlights and shadows on this project, trying out something new, so they'd look as striking as possible from afar.



Also fixed that hand for Norse

Plus a very wip picture of some green armour.

Looking at the re-touch work that you've done makes me wonder why you got someone to paint your guys in the first place? You can paint, and you should I wouldn't suffer another man's paint job

Lack of time or motivation. If you scroll back to the very first page of this thread, the underworld team is still only half painted.

I was so pissed off at the results of his painting, I got some motivation from that Maybe It'll last through the whole team.
