Day 2 - Got to shop...they were all out of the minis I wanted! Went home. Ordered them online.

White glue and sand on the bases. Primed and ready to start paint tomorrow!

(I will be adding pics, but can't easily do so from my phone.)
(Edit: Now with pics!)

Day 3 - flesh painted on 9 players. Went over the sand on base with a mix of paint and white glue to help it stick. Brief touch ups on star player.

Current standings:
2 minis "done" and just need to be based. Will do touch-ups if there is time.
9 minis with flesh done, everything else to do.
2 minis to arrive by mail.
8 days to go!

Day 5 - lots of Blood Bowl, but no painting. Playoffs were great, and made it to the Championship Game...where I came in 2nd.

Very happy with the season, the team, and the great league we have. Really a great bunch of coaches.

I've committed to playing flings for the next season (Season 3), but am going against my "only play with fully painted teams" stance. I still prefer to play with (and against) fully painted teams. I don't want to rush the team (like with this tournament team), so I am planning to finish the team by the end of our 5 month season. This will allow me time to enjoy the painting, rather than feel like it is work!

I did get a couple minis from Duder for the project. Now that I have all the minis in hand, I really need to decide on a color scheme. Planning lots of work tomorrow.

Day 6 - Got a lot done!

Touched up flesh
Decided on color scheme - Grey / Blue / Yellow
Painted grey on all minis
Painted one test mini...didn't like how it looked
Changed scheme - Grey / Blue / White
Painted up basic base to see how it would look.
Happy with the overall result.

I'll add static grass and number the base, but this is the overall level I'm shooting for with the team.

I may add extra details if I have enough time, but I'll be happy to get a team to this point in 10 days...if I make the challenge!

Day 7 - Came home to find both minis I ordered in my mailbox!

Messed around with Reaper Bones minis. Being able to reshape them is really cool!

Submerge the part of the mini you want to reshape for 10-15 seconds in boiling water.
The plastic now can be bent (or straightened).
Dunk it into ice water to set it.

I played around for a while with this! It allowed me to snip off the base they came on, and move the legs closer so they could fit on a normal 25mm base. I also messed around with the arm positions of the minis.

I did more painting, and the team is looking a lot more blue than it did yesterday.

I love the bones material. It is the only miniature material that when my young children want to hold miniatures I can hand them each one and be completely unconcerned.

Day 8 -Team is very nearly done!

I need to static grass and number the whole team.
I have 9 minis finished, 2 just needing a single color highlights, and 2 that I haven't started painting.

If I have enough time, I'll go back and add extra details, but I feel confident I'll complete the team on time.

Day 9 - Finished 11 out 13 players painted and standing on flocked bases! I need to paint 2 more players, and paint numbers on the bases, and I'll be finished.

The team as it stands now.

Wonderful!

Looks like my 'first' human team, with the marauders as the normal humans. Perhaps I should add some WWs to them, and see how I can change them to a decent Norse team.

Nice work!

Three Die Brawl was a ton of fun.

I went down with the goal of winning "Dirty Deeds" prize (most players sent off for fouling). It went pretty well.
1402281320778.jpg
It started as a discussion around alternate team builds (orc teams built around passing, dwarf teams with tons of fend, etc). I was trying to come up with the best fouling roster. I decided to take it to the Brawl.

1.1 mil team - 6 regular skills package
Yhetti - Mighty Blow
2 Ulfs - Wrestle
3 linemen - Dirty Player
6 linemen - no skills
Star - Wilhelm Chaney
Apothecary
No Rerolls

The goal was to use the wolves and W.C. to hit with a 3 die block. The wrestle helps to negate the Block that is everywhere in tournament builds. I tried to get at least 1 player surrounded and fouled by a Dirty Player each turn. Regular players would foul once the DP players were all sent off.

I had 2 games that I fouled all 16 turns. :orc:
Wilhelm was a superstar. His claw helped to manage the high armor, his speed helped to blitz ball carriers, get angles that would set up fouls, and his catch and speed provided a great scoring option. He scored all of my touchdowns on the day.

Final record - 1 win, 2 losses, 1 tie, and 12 players sent off!

A whole team in 10 days (including the two days you didn't actually do any painting  )
Congratulations!
Sounds like you had a fun time at the tourney and always nice to go home with some silverware. 3 players sent off per game! Nice.
