Dark Elf team - Mad Donna's Diva's
After getting my arse handed to me by Dark Elf teams over the years ive finally decided to put my own team together and see if i can return the deed of arse kicking.
I wanted a team that looked fast and agile with dynamic poses to resemble the speed and quickness the team is well known for, as well as the sharp pointy look that the evil race is alsi known for. With these ideas in mind i decided on the Dark Eldar plastic Wyches as their basic glued together minis are in a running pose, perfect for the fast and agile aspect of the team. They are also armoured on some limbs and this adds the spiky look i wanted. While looking at the plastic minis i realised they were all females (the term Wyches didnt make me think they were female for some reason) and the fact that the positional players included the need for another 2 females kind of settled the fact that i was going to make this an all female team.
The kit contains a few arms that have punch daggers that could be used for the Assasins but but after close inspection i found 2 arms that had large spikes running down tge length of the limb, perfectfor a 'drive by' slash as they run past other players. There are also 2 fully fasked heads that could be used to single them out from the rest of the team.
For the Witch's i went with WFB Dark Elf Witch minis, it was the most obvious choice. They will need a weapons snip but that shouldnt be to hard to do as none of the blades are attached to anything other than their hands. They are not in as dynamic a pose as the plastics Wych minis but they look some what more arrogant, a nice touch.
The one thing that i am having trouble with is a suitable Blitzer mini. I was going to use the new Dark Eldar Incubi but feel that they wouldnt fit into the team well as they look to 'heavy' and not very female-like. Any ideas would be welcome for these girls.
Last mini i want to do is Roxanna. This star has single handedly beaten me and so i feel the need for her on the team - also fits into the all female aspect. For her im gona use the Necromunda character 'Mad Donna'. This is because A: she looks arrogant as hell and is wearing little to no clothes, and B: I love the mini. This is also where the team name comes from.
Well there is a long winded run down of the project, time to get moving and put them together. Pics to follow as the team progresses.

Well i decided to tackle the Assasin's 1st as i knew what bits i wanted to use from the start and knew whati wanted them to look like. They still need some greenstuff round the waists to cover up the mess of cutting off the grenades and weapons but that will need to be dont on all the team so gona leave that till the end.

Looks good Shane. Great idea to use the Mad Donna figure. Look forward to seeing the team as it develops.

I dont want to do black or purple as i see Dark Elf teams in these colours all the time. I might go red or even do animal print on the cloth.

So i have done some work on the Linemen. I wanted them leaning so they looked like they were running or dodging. They still need greenstuff work round the middle to hide the areas where weapons and grenades were but i will get round to it later.
