Re: Nurgle Warrior options
so here's the first one, pretty much done (unless I get enough suggestions to improve him further...
)
this is probably my least favorite of the conversions, because he's the least nurgly - that's why I started with him. I knew if I started with my favorite this guy would never see paint.
his right hand is from the Avatars of War Dwarf slayer box with some greenstuff to make it a glove, and his head is mostly greenstuff because the mask I wanted didn't fit on this torso
his knuckleduster was snipped from an Orc choppa because that's way easier than making one out of putty!
the paintjob is about a 3 hour one. I don't like Nurgle warriors that are bright green, I want them to still look mostly human except for their mutated parts, which for these guys I'll be doing purple. So it's probably an underwhelming paintjob overall, but fits with how I see Nurgle as a slow corruption of the flesh... so my guess is some of you won't much like this paint style, but he has to fit the rest of the team as well..

scale shot, these guys are PERFECT for ST4

Re: Nurgle Warrior options
Looks lik ethey fit the bill just fine indeed. Almost makes me feel sorry that I went a different route, but with my guys looking more like ST3 then ST4 I might pick these up at some point and just replace the warriors I am painting atm.
I do agree with you that the typical green skin look does put me off a bit. I also prefer the idea of a human, slowly succumbing to the nightmarish mutations of Chaos.

It looks great, but i have a question....
What can we use as rotters to pair with these warriors?
I have some WFB pestigors for.... ermmm pestigors.... but no idea about rotters, and i don't like zombies for this.
Suggestions?

Re: Nurgle Warrior options
I'm using 1980s Plaguebearers...

but they are not the easiest to come by though.. I'm not a big fan of the new plastic ones, but at least they are kit-bashable.. maybe a mix of new plaguebearer and zombie plastics?? I guess it depends how rotten you think Rotters are? They have decay, but not Foul Appearance, so....

I also decided to use plaguebearers (1980's models) as rotters.
Have about 40 of them so it was not much of a problem to enlist some on a bloodbowl team.

Re: Nurgle Warrior options
Since this thread appears to have all the Nurgle lovers chiming in, I have a question:
Thinking about putting together a team using mostly Meiko/Franarcilla minis, but I really like Necrom's Pestigors (available at Comixininos). Anybody know how they scale with each other? I already sort of wish Meiko's Pestigors were a little smaller than the Warriors, but I don't want the Pestigors to be smaller than the Rotters, either. What I'm hoping for is perhaps the Pestigors being around the same size, but with the leaner look that the Necrom ones have.
Anyone seen 'em in the same place, or using them together?

Re: Nurgle Warrior options

After just getting over the worst curry related food poisoning that I have ever experienced, I can say without fear of contradiction that the yellow puss-type-bits on the second one actually made me feel like I was going to puke.
Well played, sir, well played

Re: Nurgle Warrior options
and here is #2 - the largest of the Blightkings, he does overhang the 25mm base a little on each side. His left hand is from the AoW dwarf plastics, his right arm is an old chaos mutation sprue bit I found in my bitz box. he's really heavily armoured, which made this a quicker, but less satisfying paint job.. comments welcome - he's not varnished yet, so I can still change bits..
