Black Scorpion teams
Hi all,
Just getting back into Bloodbowl after a 16 year break!
Been having a look around at some of the teams now available and have decided to get either the Dwarf or Ratmen team from Black Scorpion - just after a quick bit of advice from anyone who has them on which they prefer?
Cheers,
Ian.

Well, if you're after advice about playstyle I think you'd get more input in the General section, suffice it to say that Dwarfs and Skaven couldn't be more different.
But regarding the models, both teams are great and great value for money.
I have both, and with the Dwarfs team, by getting two team deals, I was able to convert up star players as well with very little effort just by using some extra GW plastics. I planned to do the same with the Skaven, but distracted myself before getting around to doing the conversions
And I'm firmly of the opinion that resin is a very good material for BB teams, being as how it doesn't chip anything like as quickly as metal minis. Worth filling the bases with putty of polyfilla for extra weight though.
Above all, they are very simple and effective sculpts that paint up very easily and look great so from an aesthetic and value for money perspective I recommend both.
That might not help much though, so like I say perhaps be guided more by play style and decide which one to get first;at those prices I reckon you'll be back for more.

Re: Black Scorpion teams
Thanks JT-Y, that's exactly what I was after, more interested in the quality of the actual minis rather than play-style.
I'll probably end up getting both teams at some point, at the moment I've only got the Human and Orc teams from the game itself. Just wanted confirmation that they quality was ok etc.
On further reflection, I think I'll get the Dwarves first - I might have enough Skaven lying around to convert another team... hmm... yes...

I got the Elf team a while back, plus two extra catchers. Quality stuff and flash is easy to remove. Still trying to find time to paint them though...

I'm a British Freebooter, will play for any team including Undead (I have my own Apothecary). Good rates.

Re: Black Scorpion teams
I've got the elf team as well and the quality was very good. Although not to do with blood bowl I also liked the skeleton pirate miniatures so much I got them as well. Excellent quality all around.
There was a mix up with my shipping address, and the customer services was excellent in getting it resolved, so that for me is another huge plus point in dealing with them.

Re: Black Scorpion teams
The dwarf team I got from them was great quality but had a heavy coating of release agent, so I'd recommend giving the minis a light wash before base coating them to prevent the paint peeling.

Re: Black Scorpion teams
Got the Skaven - love them, the sculpts have that dirty ragged feeling I feel all Skaven should have. I plan to use them as Underworld, once I can get some Night Goblin figures I like.
I got mine at Salute, so can't comment on their postal arrangements, but when I had some questions regarding the sets I had a very quick response from them via email.
If it wasn't for their love of cloaks I'd get some of their other teams. The dwarfs are actually the ones I dislike most (and I'm not a big fan of dwarf figures in general), but I intend to pick up their juggernaut to use with the Impact dwarf team I do own (not that I intend to ever play Dwarfs again!).

Awesome stuff. Ordered the dwarf team so they'll turn up near or just after Christmas, which gives me enough time to get the teams from the box set done
