Basic questions here

Post by Toso »

:o I am new to Bloodbowl. I have played Warhammer and 40K so I am not a complete newbie. I always thought that bloodbowl loooked cool and want to try it. Here are my questions: 1) What is the latest edition? 2) How long does an average game take to play? Thanks :P

Living Rule Book 2.0 (Downloadable for free from the GW site) or the current Handbook that comes with the game plus the 2003 Annual.
Game length? 2 - 2.5 hrs once your familiar with the game, work on a little more while you're learning.

the lrb is based on 3rd ed.
Rules change comes with LRB.
So the current rules are LRB (effectively based upon the 3 rd Ed).

To answer your last question, it really depends on how you play. If you play agressive tabletop, games can be less than an hour. If you play leisure tabletop, you are looking at 1 1/2 hours to 2 on occasions, depending on if you fail your 1st action or not

If you play online, with FUMBBL league Javabowl, games can be very fast. Or if you us the play by email tool, games can take weeks, with you only playing a few minutes at a time.

Wow, you guys are fast, round my way we think 2 hours is a fast game, most of our games take 2.5.

One of my opponents has trouble getting a game in under 4 hours

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

Well, considering the way I roll dice, my turns typically only last a few seconds

WELCOME !!

The average time of a bb match depends on various things:
- some times you fumble your first move of the turn and your turn ends and when that shitty thing happens much in a match you save a lot of time
- when the fans are making a Riot :P (kickoff table) the match will also take much shorter
- and in the beginning you have to think at every role you make: did it work ?? so that will cost also much time ! :-?

But Blood Bowl is just really nice ! how long it takes.. its always coool !!
