Feldherr Mini Case Question

Post by BullBear »

I need a new case for travelling with. I'm sold on the Feldherr Mini, but have a question on which trays to go with.

http://www.amazon.com/Feldherr-MINI-min ... dherr+mini

This will need to be universal, so will need to carry any team I put it in, from a team with no big guys like dark elves, to a team with three, like halflings. It'll also need to carry dice and some sideline figs.

It seems like the '1 large pick and pluck' tray might do the trick with all minis standing up. However, I feel like getting two smaller trays will help secure the minis better. The mixed options, gives me 1 tray with 16 figs laying down, and a small pick and pluck. or I could go the 32 mini route and get two trays of 16.

Anyone know if the 16 fig tray or the small pick and pluck will support a big guy with their 40mm round base? I don't mind cutting some extra space out the bottom of the tray or a little in the tray above to make it fit. Just wondering how effective it'll be.

Thanks!

I have no trouble fitting big guys in - you just need to cut out one of the dividers to get him into two squares. Much more efficient than reducing the capacity to 16 models.

What tray combination are you referring to?

Also, does the mini have the pocked to store pencils and such in? I read about it, but it doesn't look like it in the images from that link I posted. Or does that pocked only come in the PLUS version?

Thanks!

I have a 20 mini tray for the Feldherr case, not 100% sure but I think I got it directly from Feldherr with a case rather than from Amazon. Obviously the individual holes are a bit smaller than in the 16 mini tray but they fit most BB minis fine.

2x16 definitely works - if you are concerned about team combinations you may get an extra tray

the pocket is under the lit

I only have the fixed 16 hole trays. Never used the ones where you choose your own holes.

I have several Feldherr cases. Some have the pencil pocket, some don't. I guess you have the check which version you are buying.
