NAF WC3 impressions (Thank you LUCCINI)
A day later and I still have the hurry-up song ringing in my ears. (What song is that anyway? It sounds kind of like Amazing Grace but I don't think it was)
I was absolutely staggered by how much fun the World Cup was, how smoothly everything went, and most of all what a relaxed and friendly atmosphere I experienced the entire weekend. I met so many people who I'd only ever known online, and hundreds of people who I had never even heard of. Every game was a lot of fun, Every round was challenging. I drew some games that I probably should have lost, lost some that I maybe could have won, and at the end of the weekend I had a reasonable 2-4-3 record.
More importantly, the entire tournament was a week-long reminder of how much fun our silly game can be, and a perfect demonstration that no matter how much of a crazy nerd you feel sometimes, there are far crazier nerds out there
Complaining about minor details feels nitpicky - sure, driving in the old city part of Lucca is stressful, and the app didn't have a search function ... but that's not what we'll all remember. The organization was basically flawless, everybody found their tables on time, you always knew where to go, and we played badly enough and sat far enough back that we were always close to the bar. Perfection! And a massive, massive THANK YOU to the organizers, Lucca, and everyone who made this the best Blood Bowl weekend of my life.
The only real loser is whoever hosts World Cup IV and has to try to top this. Good luck with that!

Google translate has it as
I am death and harbor crown ,
Son I am of all of you mistress
and are so cruel, so are strong and tough
I do not stop your walls .
I am death and harbor crown ,
I am of all of you mistress
and in front of my scythe head you'll have to bend down
and ' dark death to step go .
You're the guest of honor of the dance that we play for you ,
laying and sickle dance round to round
the ride of a dance and then another
and the time you are no longer a lady .
Jolly little ditty
Had a great time

Haha! I was playing pretty far back most of the time, so I didn't hear any of the lyrics or anything.andrea.parrella wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tXNhkj7U4I
This is what my brain kept telling me that I was hearing:

Thank you Luccini and the NAF for a wonderful 3 days. Almost unbelievable to see so many Blood Bowl coaches in one place and having such a good time. What an amazing experience
Here are some pluses and minus from me, a very personal persective.
The major pluses in no particular order:
The large number of players
The large number of different nations
The World Cup board with NAF name
The stalls with painted miniatures on display
The party atmosphere
The single room
The weather
The citadelle
The app
Lunches at the venue
And the very minor minuses, again in no particular order but recorded in case it assists in arranging the next World Cup:
The acoustics of the room
The lack of a search function on the app
Just one till at the bar
The general lack of printed rosters (which would have been useful for those players without the app)
Again, thank you to everyone involved in the organisation, a truly amazing tournament experience

Who would have thought a bloodbowl event can be that organised, even though it involves bloodbowl players ...
Thanks for the tournament and the unbelievable great organisation!
The bar gets raised each four year significantly it seems!

This was undoubtably one of the best Blood Bowl experiences of my life. Such an amazing atmosphere in the hall and played in the most impressive spirit I have ever seen of any tournament of any sort - let alone one of this magnitude. I met many old friends from the game and made many new ones. Plus I ended up hitting my personal gaming target of winning 50% of my games (ended up with a 4-1-4 record).
If I am able to return in 4 years time I certainly will do so.

Thanks everybody for being all very sporty, that made extremely easier for us just 4 referee to control the 456 matches that were running at the same time!
