How many squares does a 'big guy' take up?

Post by Archamedius »

I was curious as the models and the bases they come on seems to indicate more than on (i.e. 4 spaces on the pitch) but I have heard many people indicate that they only take up one square. Fluff wize I would think they would occupy more than one also. Is there an official rule on this?

Thanks!

Arch

yes, they take up 1 square.

they had rules for taking up multiple squares in 2nd ed, with facing rules and all kinds of crap, but thankfully for simplicity they got rid of all that in 3rd ed.

They take up only one square.

The best thing, in my opinion, is just to discard those square bases and get those medium-sized round bases. They have the same diameter as the length on the square bases, but since the corners are rounded, they fit a LOT better on a Blood Bowl pitch.

This, of course, doesn't help for when your player gets knocked over. My current Treeman (Durthu, discussed in another thread) takes up a single square when standing, but about 6 when he's on the ground.
