2nd edition chuckers(conversions?)
If theres one thing I hate more than slutty chick teams( )is the "empty" hands on the 2nd edition throwers.
I have thought many times about converting these so they have a pigs bladder in their hands.
Has anyone converted any of the "openhanded wonders"? Any advice or ideas?
I don't mind chopping my 2nd ed figures as long as they look good.
Anyone?
Oh, and show me any conversions you may have even if the end result is'nt a chucker.
Thanks!

If it's humans you mean then I used the open hand ones as catchers. Easiest conversion. I use the kickers as throwers. Same difference really

What i ment was the orc, human, elf, and dark elf throwers have "empty" hands and has anyone converted these to have balls or any other conversions to make the figures look "not stupid".

Re: 2nd edition chuckers(conversions?)
ok, I have actually never really looked at Orks and Elves that much, but as said, for humans I just use them as catchers instead which does not make them look less silly, but silly with a purpose instead. Never bothered me much.
I could imagine a hand swap as easiest solution. I always have a bit of a problime with multiple players carrying a ball on the pitch at the same time. But from here on I will also look forward to pictures of conversions solving the problem instead of leading this thread in the wrong direction

Re: 2nd edition chuckers(conversions?)
There are few of them, as I recall...
The Dark Elves have two throwers with a ball and one empty-handed, and they don't use throwers anymore... as I can remember, the only team with empty-handed throwers are the elves, right?
Have you tried to glue a 2nd edition ball? The blue ones that came with no base... I think they are small enough to fit well.
Another option, if you dont' mind chopping them, is to put a Dark Elf Thrower's hand to an Elf hand...

My HE's are not 2nd ed. but as they're warhammer conversions I made them GS-balls as I find it super important to be able to tell positions by Balls, poses, etc.

Re: 2nd edition chuckers(conversions?)
almost all the balls you could get (either with the game or since) are ridiculously oversized and looked bad when glued into the empty hands of the throwers...
my recommendation would be to pick some some extra plastic human throwers from 3rd ed and do a hand swap instead. the ball is still big, but not silly big.. that's what I did with my avatar

There is one set of hands out there to be purchased.
Unfortunately, the balls are pretty big too and you'll get a lot of catchers hands that I simply don't need.
So, yeah, I'm too looking for a solution to that because I need some conversions done.

I have that set. I think the balls are way huge.Regash wrote:There is one set of hands out there to be purchased.

Re: 2nd edition chuckers(conversions?)
I modeled mine with a Norse thrower for reference. Agreed that the actual game ball is too big, but I think they should be a bit larger than they actually would be (heroic scale n all) because the some minis have a tendency to have all the proportions in order and the ball kind of vanishes. Like These:

I actually like the proportions on those. Which human team is that?
