1) I thought it was "Pushback"

2) Dunno; I'm still planning to make a diagram of squares with colours indicating the passing range (or something like that...)

Go and buy it! The boxed set isn't too expensive and worth it.

ummm...thanks for the advice, and no offence intended, but what i really wanted was someone to answer my question!

Since im making my own custom playfield and dont want the figures that come with the game, i don't really see any point. And I have bought so many games workshop products that i have no need to feel guilty about not giving them enough of my money.

And things are a lot more expensive in australia that in england or america. Games Workshop OZ doesnt stock bloodbowl products, so i would have to order it from uk or america. Bloodbowl is 50 pounds, so adding 20 pounds shipping would make the total price about $200 plus australian. But dont forget that we earn a lot less here than you do - that is almost half my weekly wage. Figure out what percentage of your weekly wage it would cost you to buy blood bowl.

So anyway I think its a little unreasonable of you to expect me to fork out more dough for the game.

PS: push back! aha - that makes blocking a lot more powerful. Hehe i guess my practise games were a little skewed towards the agility teams!
PPS: i know someone out there is just dying to give me the exact dimension of the range ruler... :)

Join the NAF (www.thenaf.net)

Then they'll give you a set of Black-and-Gold block dice!

(Costs about 10 USD)

There're your dice. I'll measure the ruler later today if someone else doesn't do it first.

Didn't believe you ... check the OZ site ....
http://www.games-workshop.com/storefron ... ace&game=9

Huh ... no BB ... okay in that case I don't have a problem helping you.

size of a square = 2.9 cm
end distance for quick pass = 11.3 cm
end distance for short pass = 21.35 cm
end distance for long pass = 31.4 cm
end distance for long bomb = 39.9 cm

At least these are the measurements used by the PBeM BB program.

If you're gonna help him, at least do it through PM, so that people in the US, UK and Canada don't start making their own fields without buying the box after simply reading this thread.

All the answers above should be deleted to avoid just that.

ANd theyd still buy the miniatures.

when at various points in the past we found ourselves (is this a royal 'we'? no, we think not)... anyway, when there wasn't a ruler around the faceless people to which i refer just made each range incriment 4 squares, counted in the most direct fashion possible... no, it isn't precise and technically you'd wind up with something different if you had an actual ruler, but the effects are similar enough to get through the day...

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. People know how to make their own fields. One of the BBMags even had an article on it. If someone decides to make a field a little bigger to accomodate the 40mm bases, they're going to need this information.

And Galak, You forgot to mention the width of the ruler. It has a lot to to with interceptions, ya know.

eh? I don't understand why you are concerned. If Games Workshop were concerned, they certainly wouldnt publish the LRB for free, would they? I have never played bloodbowl before, and i doubt i ever would if the LRB wasn't free. I am a new player to the hobby - isnt that i good thing? Now i would of thought that every new player was good, no matter whether they own the bloodbowl board game or not, and no matter what country they live in and if they are rich or poor.

Like what are you worried about? That more people will play bloodbowl, buy the minis and cause games workshop's impressive profit to increase even more?... actually, you have a valid point there! :) Ah, so you may be trying to discourage people in America & UK from playing Bloodbowl because you are concerned that games workshop will soon be as powerful as Microsoft. Or something.

Personally, Im not concerned, dont care, and am just going to happily entertain myself converting all my warhammer miniatures to bloodbowl teams...

Right On!! I wish more people had this attitude, the only thing a WH mini is good for is to convert into a BB mini!

Hmm, parts of this thread might explain why my question wasnt swamped with answers ---- If you ask any GW person anything about B/Bowl down here in Australia they are like "Bloodbowl, whats that?".

If they dont sell it, they dont want to know about it --- except sometimes the older ones might come up to you and whisper about the games they've been having....

Anyway, I made my field with 40mm squares & took a diagram in the LRB
which shows the "Quick Pass" section of the template as being 3.5 squares
as gospel --- so 3.5 squares for the first 3 sections & then 3 for the long bomb --- I made the overlap as 1/4 of a square......

I have since realised that this is probably slightly wrong as I have heard that the sections are all slightly different sizes, but the others in our league copied mine so at least everyone is using the same template...
