LADIES, GENTLEMEN AND ALL OTHERS – WELCOME BACK TO THE THIRD ANNUAL BLOODBATH!
PROBABLY THE BEST BLOOD BOWL TOURNAMENT IN THE CITY OF BATH!
This is a one-day, 3-game, NAF-accredited Blood Bowl 11s tournament.
It takes place on Saturday 7th September 2024, in the centre of the historic city of Bath.
FORMAT
The tournament consists of 3 games of Blood Bowl using the BB2020 / Second Season ruleset.
Coaches will play 3 games against 3 different opponents. The first round will be paired randomly, and Swiss pairings will be used for rounds 2 and 3. This will be a resurrection format: your roster resets after each match (no SPP, injuries, raised dead etc.).
The official Blood Bowl rules, and all current FAQs and errata published up to the date of the tournament will be in effect.
In the event of any rules disagreements, TO’s decision is final.

TEAM CREATION
All coaches will have 1.15 million gold pieces to spend on team creation, following the team creation rules for exhibition play detailed in the rulebook. From this they must purchase all their players (at least 11), re-rolls and any sideline staff such as cheerleaders, assistant coaches, or apothecaries (and their ilk).
Eligible teams include all official GW teams published up to the date of tournament, including Teams of Legend that have not been superseded by subsequent releases, as well as the Slann team from the NAF. The new rosters for Amazon, Norse, Vampires and Khorne will be used, thus Daemons of Khorne and Teams of Legend Norse, Vampire & Amazon rosters will not be eligible. Any new teams released by GW before the end of August will also be eligible
Inducements. Coaches can also spend from their treasury to permanently add inducements to their roster. Eligible inducements are: bribes, biased referees, Halfling master chef, riotous rookies, star players*, and mercenary giants.
TEAM TIERS
The tournament uses a 5-tier system based on each team's NAF tournament performance, performance in previous Bloodbaths under similar rulesets, and a bit of What I Reckon. This is an art, not a science, so feel free to complain about - or exploit - any wonky tiering.
- TIER 1 - Amazons, Dark Elves, Shambling Undead, Underworld Denizens, Wood Elves
- TIER 2 – Dwarfs, Lizardmen, Orcs, Slann, Tomb Kings, Vampires, Norse, Skaven, Chaos Dwarfs, High Elves
- TIER 3 – Elven Union, Humans, Imperial Nobility, Necromantic, Old World Alliance, Khorne
- TIER 4 – Black Orcs, Chaos Chosen, Chaos Renegades, Nurgle, Snotlings, Gnomes
- TIER 5 – Halflings, Goblins, Ogres
SKILLS AND STARS
SKILL AND STAR ALLOWANCES
- Tier 1 – 5 Primary Skills - 0-1 Stars (C & D list available)
- Tier 2 - 6 Primary Skills - 0-1 Stars (C & D list available)
- Tier 3 - 6 Primary +1 Secondary Skill - 0-1 Stars (B, C & D list available)
- Tier 4 - 7 Primary +1 Secondary Skill - 0-2 Stars (B, C & D list available)
- Tier 5 - 8 Primary +2 Secondary Skill - 0-2 Stars (A, B, C & D list available)
After building a team, coaches may add additional skills to the players on their team (Star Players may nit receive additional skills), according to their tier, as outlined below.
A skill may be added only if the roster does not already contain 4 instances of that skill including both added skills and starting skills.
- E.g. A Lizardman team may add up to 4 Block. A Skaven team with 2 Blitzers may add up to 2 Block, but no more. A Dwarf team with 5 Lineman may not add any Block, as the team already has 4+.
If your skills pack allows secondary skills, a primary can always be taken in place of a secondary.
Skills should be clearly marked on the models using bands, rings, or similar. If using Loom Bands, please try to conform (loosely) to these colour-code conventions: Blue = Block, Green = Guard, Yellow = Dodge (or other mobility skill), White = Wrestle, Orange = Tackle, Red = DANGER (MB, Frenzy, or similar), Grey/Purple/Pink/Stripey/Black/etc = other
Stars.
Depending on your team tier, you will have access to different Stars Players Lists (see below). In addition to the usual cost in gold pieces from your Treasury, each Star Player List has an additional cost (or bonus!) associated with it.
NB. YOU MUST STILL HAVE THE APPROPRIATE SPECIAL RULE (E.G. SYLVANIAN SPOTLIGHT ETC) TO HIRE A STAR!

House Rule
This tournament will not use the Too Many Players rule as written in the rulebook (p. 40) but uses a modified version instead:
If too many players are ever in play during a drive:
1. If there are players on the offending team which have not yet activated at all this drive, the offending coach must return unactivated players to the Reserves box until the right number of players are on the field, or until there are no unactivated players left (at which point - see below)
2. If every player on the offending team has activated at least once this drive, the ref will randomly clobber players until the right number are on the field! Randomly select players from the offending team and treat them as pushed into the crowd until the right number of players remain in play.
