The OctOgre Cup

The teams from the Ogre Kingdoms and surrounding areas have gathered to decide who is the greatest of them all.

The bitter winds howl through the mountains as the teams battle to the remote stadium.
Strange energies swirl in the mist as the brave souls enter the arena.

A voice so deep it rattles the very souls of all who hear it booms out

“WELCOME! WELCOME TO THE OCTOGRE CUP. ONLY THE STRONGEST AND FASTEST CAN SURVIVE”

The stands are full of Ogres desperate to see their kin show the other races their skills.
If they see a team with no big guys they get incensed and will take to the field to prove that Ogres are the best!

Team Building

All teams get a starting treasury of 1,150,000 gp which can be used to buy players, sideline staff, rerolls and inducements. If a team is able to hire a st5+ player they MUST do so.

0-1 Star Players may be hired after 11 rostered players are purchased. However we will operate a Highlander rule so if your opponent has the same star player then neither gets to use it.
Tier 5 Teams may hire 0-2 Star Players
Star Players that come as a pair count as 1 for the above ruling.

In addition to this the several Star Players are so famous (infamous) that your team go all fan boy/girl/thing and forget to train properly for the tournament. To hire any of the following Stars Players you must pay 20 spp from your allocation and stacking of skills is no longer allowed.

Bomber Dribblesnot
Deeproot Strongbranch
Dribl and Drull
Estelle La Veneaux
Griff Oberwald
Hakflem Skuttlespike
Ivan ‘The Animal’ Deathshroud
Kreek ‘The Verminator’ Rustgouger
Morg ‘n’ Thorg
Skitter Stab Stab
Varag Ghoulchewer

No Mercenaries APART from Giants may be induced.

All other inducements from Main Rulebook, DeathZone and BB 2020 Spike Magazines are allowed

SPP Packages
Depending on team tier you get spp to spend on skills (and stat increases for Tier 5 teams). You may only select primary or secondary skills. No random skills.

You MAY stack additional skills onto a player as per the additional cost for skills on page 71 of rulebook.

Tier 1 Teams
36 SPP
Amazon, Dark Elf, Shambling Undead, Skaven, Underworld Denizens, Wood Elves

Tier 2 Teams
42 spp
Chaos Dwarf, Dwarf, Lizardmen, Orcs, Vampires,

Tier 3 Teams
48spp
Elven Union, Gnomes, High Elf, Human, Imperial Nobility, Necromantic Horror, Norse, Slann, Old World Alliance, Tomb Kings,

Tier 4 Teams
54 spp
Black Orc, Khorne, Nurgle, Snotlings, Chaos Chosen, Chaos Renegades, Halflings

Tier 5 Teams
60 spp
Goblins, Ogres

Tier 5 teams MAY spend
18spp to boost a player's MA, PA or AV by 1 (-1 for PA);
20 spp to boost AG by 1;
24 spp to boost ST by 1.

Special Tournament Rules

OGRE THE TOP

At the start of the second half, after each setup but before placing the ball for the kick off check if either team is NOT fielding a st5+ player. If not then the following occurs, the team without a st5+ player randomly selects a player on their team. They are removed from the field of play and placed in the Reserves box. Their place is taken by an Drunk Ogre Fan with the following stats

DRUNK OGRE FAN
MA 4: ST5 AG 5+ PA - AV 9+ Mighty Blow 1+, Bonehead, No Hands, Animal Savagery, Drukard, Loner 6+

At the end of the drive the Drunk Ogre Fan returns to their place in the stands.

OGRE AND OUT
If a player is pushed or thrown into the crowd add an additional +1 to the Injury roll as the Ogre fans are even more violent than a normal crowd.

Pitch Rules
The pitches of the OctOgre Cup are nothing more than some lines painted on the rough mountain plateau. Every time a ball bounces it moves twice rather than once. Roll a d8 twice. The ball can be caught between bounces.

OctOgre Weather Table

2 GALE FORCE WINDS:
The wind is unbelievably strong, making passing play impossible and even affecting the kick off! Whilst this weather condition is in effect, ignore step 2 of the Start of Drive sequence - it is not possible for a kick-off to be resolved and a touchback is automatically caused instead.
Additionally, whilst this weather condition is in effect, no Pass or Throw Team-mate actions can be performed.
3 VERY SUNNY:
A glorious day,but the clear skies and bright sunlight interfere with the passing game! Apply a -1 modifier every time a player tests against their Passing Ability
4-10 PERFECT CONDITIONS(well, almost):
It’s rather chilly and it’s threatening to rain (or snow), but considering the time of year, the conditions are almost perfect for Blood Bowl
11 BLIZZARD:
Freezing conditions and heavy falls of snow make the footing treacherous. Apply a -1 modifier every time a player attempts to Rush an extra square.
Additionally, the poor visibility means that only Quick and Short passes can be attempted
12 ICE STORM:
It is extremely cold, so cold in fact that it is raining literal lumps of ice! The ice on the pitch is so treacherous that none of the players are willing to hurry, no matter how much their coach shouts! Apply a -1 modifier every time a player attempts to Rush an extra square.
Additionally, all players on the pitch subtract 1 from their MA.

For OctOgre Cup 3, we will be using the BBTM software used at the Amorical Cup this year. It is an online system and will allow us to run the event as smoothly as possible for you.

It software can be found at bbtm.app and ideally all coaches should have access to a device that allows them to access the website after each game to record the scores.

When you access the website, you can select the NAF Name Login option. Enter your NAF name and hit the NAF NAME LOGIN red button (which will have turned orange – oooh!). This will take you to a list of events that are using the software.

You can then find your event which should be near the top as they are listed chronologically.

When you click in it, you will be able to see the weather table being used, along with the special rules for the event, scoring and tie breakers (see below for an update on these) and what counts as a casualty.

You can then also see Matches and Rankings on the other tabs at the bottom of the screen.

To view the draw and enter data for the round you will need to go to the Matches tab. You can then enter the number of TDs and Cas for each coach and hit the little cloud button in the middle. You will get a pop up confirming what you have entered. When you click OK it will be submitted.
Your opponent can also enter the results and if you both enter the same result then it will be validated. Once one player has entered the result, when the other loads the system, that result will be pre-loaded.

You will then be able to view the standings as well as the stunty standings. Note that only completed and validated games will show here.

The tie breakers for the event have been changed slightly from what was advertised initially.
They are now:
Opponent score / Strength of Schedule
Most TD
Most Cas
TD Difference
Cas Difference
Bribes to TO
Dance off
The change comes after the 3rd tiebreaker as the system doesn’t allow Head to Head. The 4th and 5th tiebreakers are inserted and Head to Head removed.
