spp`s for pushing out of bounds
hi,
one silly question:
does a player earn starplayerpoints, if a player he pushed into the crowd is placed in the dead and injury-box?
thanks,
Bert.

No you don't get any SPPs as its the crowd that injured him. However, my league uses this house rule, which is a lot of fun:
Pushing Players Into the Crowd:
If a player pushes another into the crowd, the blocker may follow his victim into the crowd (to beat on him some more). Roll for injury as normal on the victim, including any modifiers by the blocker (Mighty Blow, Razor Sharp Claw, etc). If the victim is injured then the blocker receives the casualty SPPs. Of course the blocker also gets injured by the crowd.

Fine house rule, and a rule my Norse Blitzers would love, but as the LRB says, No you don't.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Best text from the LRB to interprete then would be on bottom of p39:
I'd vote against getting the SPPs.
Erm, welcome all by the way
Hmm... so he would be eligible to collect those 2 SPP as it was a block, yet somehow i feel the casuality itself is inflicted in another way than the block and it is not the player that kills, seriously injures or badly hurts the opponent but the fans.Casualties (CAS): If a player kills, seriously injures, or
badly hurts an opposing player then they earn 2 Star
Player points. The points are only earned if the player
blocks an opponent or is blocked by an opponent himself.
Casualties inflicted in any other way do not count for Star
Player points.
I'd vote against getting the SPPs.

Since the crowd is inflicting the injury and not the player, I would not give any SPP's for this action. All the player did was push his opponent into the crowd. The crowd is who inflicts the injury.
I vote for no SPP's on this.
I remember reading in a faq somewhere, but I can't find it at the moment.

Time to reopen this old topic.
Grumbledook, please tell me where it explicitly states that a casualty inflicted by means of a player being blocked into the crowd does not earn SPP.
Since knocking a player into the crowd requires bad luck, or poor tactical play from a defending coach, or good luck/ clever planning for attacking coach, and since the block was causative of injury, it seems just that the blocking player is awarded SPP. As per page 39 of LRB, only blocks that cause injury give SPP. Given that frenzy is now a trait, and therefore harder for most players to gain, awarding SPP for a casualty caused by blocking them into the crowd seems reasonable and in accord with the rules as I have read them.
