Used to know a guy who had a Slann WFB army...years ago, in the days when Warhammer armies was ONE book. They were pretty sweet.
Check out those prices though...four infantry for about half what you'd pay these days.

It was also the days before quality multi-part plastic regiment boxes too. The only one I really remember was the old beaky Space Marines.
pretty much everything apart from 40k vehicles was Metal back then, and even the bikes and stuff were metal. The price of buying an army hasn't changed too much.
(must paint my Space marines...I now finally have 1000 points assembled.)

Yeah, bring 'em back. Sod the big fatties of the WFB world, go with the agile froggies of BB yesteryear.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

ONLY if a balanced roster is produced BEFORE the minis, not vice-versa... we've seen problems with that too many times before with great minis for teams with stupid rules.
speaking of which...my friend Jeff and I put together a Slann team several years ago which was pretty reasonable...

ignore all the ally rules and such, it was written for a different version of BB. you should still be able to get the jist of it tho. not a real powerful team, but not real bad either, and something that makes them unique (the +1 to ints)

Yours is very close to the one the MBBL2 uses ... I ran a Slann team with this roster and found it very balanced and fun.wesleytj wrote:ONLY if a balanced roster is produced BEFORE the minis, not vice-versa... we've seen problems with that too many times before with great minis for teams with stupid rules.

Never had seen your roster .... translated the 2nd edition team to as true as an LRB team as possible. You probably did something similar for 3rd which explains why they are close.wesleytj wrote:yeah in some ways it's very scary how similar those rosters are.
The Diving Tackle, Jump Up Blitzer really makes this team have that "springy" feel though that screams SLANN!
