I'm interested in hearing how you prefer to develop your DE (or any other race for that matter) sidestepping/tackling/diving tackling menaces. My plan is to get quite a few of them so I'm probably going to develop a mix of Tackle first/DT first unless you can convince me there is some serious advantage in taking one over the other.
The merits of Tackle first are of course the blocking option and the ability to burn re-rolls for your opponent's dodgers.
The merits of DT first would be the potential for more turn-overs (since I plan to use the DT mainly on re-rolled dodges).
There are probably more pro's and con's for each skill, but that's where I need you to fill in!
We assume an equal mix of strength/finesse teams in the league.
DE sidesteppers: Tackle or Diving Tackle first?

I'd take tackle first (and use him as a blitzer), then side step, then diving tackle.
Or better yet, block, dodge, side step, diving tackle.
Diving tackle is pretty useless if you don't have side step, because the opponent will just blitz free. That's also why block and dodge are almost essential.

Just like when you are making blodgers, by switching between block and dodge for thier first skill, I ussually switch between tackle and sidestep for the third skill. (blodge being first.)
I don't like getting diving tackle that much, as after you have achieved Blodge, sidestep, and tackle on a linelf, the last thing you want to do is voluntarily put that guy on the turf. Loading up on DP, at that point, is much more in character with a DE team.

Well, I reckon the idea of getting 76 SPP for the majority of my lineelves is quite far fetched (I'm very aware of that the first three skills should be blodge/sidestep), but I like to be optimistic. I somehow see some potential in getting a bunch of diving tacklers for the turn-over potential against other agility teams and would like to test it in league play.
Though I see that DP has its uses too; if the Woodelves win their second cup next week, then I'm changing tactics to Dirty Player Extravaganza...
Thanks for your opinions, guys.
