No to both.

A Hand Off is one of the six actions:

Move
Block
Pass
Blitz
Foul
Hand Off

The receiver never gets the completion anyway, it's the passer (and no, the player you hands off doesn't get a completion).

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

No hand off is not a pass and the receiver never gets a completion.
Only if one of your players manage to catch an accurate pass will you get a completion on the passer.

In my legue, we have never given an SPP for a hand-off "completion" and always give a +1 modifier to the Catch roll. However, I was just reading the LRB and it says:

"The hand-off counts as an 'accurate pass,' so the player that the ball is handed to receives the +1 modifier to his Catch roll for an accurate pass." (page 20)

AND

"Completions (COMP): A player who makes an accurate pass that is caught by another player earns 1 Star Player point." (page 39)

Putting it all together, it says that a hand-off is counted as an 'accurate pass' and that if an 'accurate pass' is caught, the throwing player earns 1 SPP. Does this mean that a player making a successful hand-off should earn 1 SPP?

Like I said before, I've never played it that way, but the LBR suggest that is the case. Does the LRB say otherwise anywhere? Thanks!

See Hot List...

http://www.midgardbb.com/BBRC_HotList2003.html

this is the 3rd time in the last 6 months this has been debated on TBB.

Put simply ...NO a handoff NEVER gives SPPs because you never actually rolled for a Pass. It is TREATED AS an accurate pass for purposes of the CATCHER. To count for SPPs the text would have to say that it counts as an accurate pass for BOTH the catcher and the THROWER.
