Cool ... hey Neo ... the hot list is actually getting pretty big which I must admit surprises me.neoliminal wrote:Correct. Interception of the ball doesn't invalidate the block.
I divided it into section, but I'm hoping that doesn't stop the BBRC from looking at section outside of Q&A.
Chet's responses last year to me seems to indicated that only the Q&A section of the Hot List was used not the other 2. Hopefully the whole list will get reviewed this year .... or should I just put everything under Q&A ...

Ok got another one:
What happens when you multiple block 2 players who both have guard. I thought that you would just add their str together and block as is, so dauntless against the total str would be a 1 die block,
Now the other school of thought is because they both have guard they get to assist each other so they have total str+2 for each assist. The assist rules simply say:
1. Must be adjacent to the enemy player
involved in the block, and...
2. Must not be in the tackle zone of any other
player from the opposing team.
3. Must be standing.
It doesn't say they can't be part of the block, so there aren't acually any rules saying they can't.
Though my point of view is that they are both being blocked and using both their str already, so they are already assisting each other. Though technically the rulebook doesn't say otherwise.

About this topic:
_______
...B.......
...F........
F (with frenzy) blocks/blitzes B (with ball) into the endzone with a pushback; is it now a TD, or should the second block (which could well push B out of the field) be worked out first.

and specifically this piece:If a player with Strip Ball pushes an opposing player with the ball into his endzone during your turn. Is it a touchdown. The wording on page 16 indicates yes as it doesn't include the "A team scores a touchdown when one of their players ends an action standing in the opposing team’s End Zone while holding the football." The rules on page 16 under the topic, SCORING IN THE OPPONENT’S TURN, say its a TD as soon as the player is pushed which would seem to preclude the Strip Ball effect. If Strip Ball should prevent such a TD, change the wording to this: "For example, a player holding the ball could be pushed into the End Zone by a block. If this happens and the player is still in possession of the ball when that block or event fully resolves then the team scores a touchdown"
If this change gets through, could it please be specified how it interacts with Frenzy. FI:when that block or event fully resolves then the team scores a touchdown

Okay the Hot List is looking good I think.
If anyone gets a chance to re-read it all over let me know if I've missed anything or if something there is f'd up.
Thanks.

Thanks John ... I'm trying to keep the riff-raff off the list this year.neoliminal wrote:Again, many many thanks to Tom for providing both the BBRC and the Blood Bowl community as a whole such a valuable service. Many Kudos
Chet caught two things on the final Hot List last year that were clearly answered by the LRB already ... I vowed this year not to let that happen again. I want every item on the list to be something worth you guy's time.

Galak ~ An idea came up with improving Two Heads by Sean Newboy (viewtopic.php?t=6329&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15). Basically Keeping it at +1 to Dodge rolls and adding a +1 to interceptions as well (one head watches the passer while the other watches the catcher...). Not sure if it is list worthy but worth the shot!

The end-zone “line of death” does not discriminate when one tempts fate by using a “go for it” to pass over it.

Hot List
I just read right through and found an anomaly about TDs.GalakStarscraper wrote:If anyone gets a chance to re-read it all over let me know if I've missed anything or if something there is f'd up.
Under cleaning up the text... the suggested change is to -
"A team scores a TD when one of their players is standing in the opposing team's End Zone while holding the football a the end of any player's action."
Under official clarifications... the suggested change is to -
"For example a player holding the ball could be pushed into the End Zone by a block. If this happens and the player is still in possession of the ball when that single block or event resolves then the team scores a TD."
The first wording would prevent a score if a player holding the ball was frenzied through the End Zone, whereas the second wording would allow the TD.
I prefer the second option although it still causes possible problems with the following scenario.
A player blitzes the ball carrier, who dumps off, but the pass scatters to a player on the moving team standing in the end zone. The Blitzing player's turn has not ended and the block has not been resolved. Is it a TD yet or do we have to continue with the block?

If the word "event" in the second wording is intended to include a pass then the block might not be required. However, neither wording is quite adequate as it stands.
Perhaps the first version could have the following addition -
.."or after the resolution of any block, pass or handoff even if the moving player's turn has not ended."
Sorry to do this, in most cases the suggested wording to clarify rules is perfect.

Bevan how about:
"A team scores a TD when one of their players is standing in the opposing team's End Zone while holding the football at the end of any player's action from his own team."
This seperates the two rulings. One is for scoring on your turn. The other is for scoring on your opponent's turn, and it solves the Frenzy issue also.
