We had an issue the other night with large miniatures displacing other miniatures when they fall prone. So, I thought up the idea of making a set of markers to represent prone players.
The set would be like the turn markers, except there would be 20 of them. 16 of them would say, "Prone Player, Number ##", and would have one marker for players 1-16. 4 more would say "Prone Star Player", to represent the multitude of freebooters and star players available for the different teams.
The reverse side of these tokens would say "Stunned Player, Player ##" and "Stunned Star Player", respectively.
The actual miniature would be placed on the side of the board to be put back on the board when it stands up.
What do you think?

That's not a bad idea actually. A player in the league had a Big Guy that gave problems when they were on their butt...so he started to use a quarter for the Big Guy when it was down...Tails he was stunned...Heads he was prone.

The end-zone “line of death” does not discriminate when one tempts fate by using a “go for it” to pass over it.

I've heard of this before, and some people didn't like it because they forgot that they were standing next to an ogre instead of a marker. If a mini is really too large to be placed prone, I usually use a 6 sider, with "6" designating face up and "1" designating face down.

This is true...it is easy to forget that the marker on the field is a Big Guy which towers over your player next to it...you can get caught up in the game and forget about it since the BG actually isn't there visually.Skummy wrote:I've heard of this before, and some people didn't like it because they forgot that they were standing next to an ogre instead of a marker.

i was gonna buy some "not-slotta" bases and paint the name of my Chaos Halfling team's Heresy Minotaur on two with "prone" and "Stunned" on, because he's way too big to lay on the pitch, the paintjob would get damaged and he'd probably fall apart from the bashing he'd take. Just too nice a fig NOT to use.
