Snotling Team. 16 or 32 Snotlings?

Post by WildAnimal »

Hi

I have seen different Snotling teams around.
0-16 snotlings with Regenerate

OR

0-32 Snotling without Regenerate. (ie. each counts as a half player).

What do you think is the best?
And how many trolls should they have access to? 3 or 4?
And should the trolls use team re-rolls?
And should they have the Titchy trait? (+1 to dodge and +2 on injury)

generaly i think it should be 0-32 snotlings, and then have access to swarm the field with a D6 extra players on field.

But maybe i have not thinked i through, please come with your oppinion and experince

I'd use the one on Galak's website, as it is the least open to abuse. 32 players on a roster is a whole lot of snot.

Yeah, we've used this team and it isn't too bad at all...

The end-zone “line of death” does not discriminate when one tempts fate by using a “go for it” to pass over it.

I gotta admit, I nearly choked when I saw the $140,000 price tag on your first snotling.

Snotling = 20k
Spellcaster training = 50k and drops his AV down to 4.
Personal apothecary = cost the price of the player (ie 70k) ...

total = 140k

So yes that is one very expensive Snotling. The team is currently 1 win - 2 losses. The one win was against a Goblin team.

I've found the team very balanced and the Spellcaster and Pump Wagon really don't add much to the team, so I think it would be fine in an LRB setting with the rule base. But this has been debated multiple times on TBB.

Tichty rules

Post by WildAnimal »

I looks really fine to me.
But i think the titchy rules should give 1d6 ekstra players each drive, 1d3 is a little to weak, but please reply to this, its you that got the experince.

Zombie has said before that the D6/2 round down is too much and makes the team too good .... I totally disagree with this point, buttttt .... the point here is that folks like Zombie and Wes have stated that they think the MBBL2 roster is too good; so err on the side of caution and don't improve the team any from the blood-bowl.net rules.

I've played this version of the Snotling team a total of 15 games. Its record is 1 win - 11 losses - 3 ties. The Snotling team is supposed to be a very serious challenge for a coach to play. ... sort of ... what do you do after you get good with Halflings. The MBBL2 Snotling roster does this ... actually the MBBL2 roster was what the BBRC had proposed as the fixed version of the team during testing for what became the LRB. I played that roster for a 12 game season. I agreed that it was balanced, but there are certain BBRC members who don't agree that Snotlings should ever be an official team so it didn't make it back into the official LRB rules after 4th was scrapped (along with Brettonian and the Daemon teams which actually did have very serious issues even with proposed BBRC fixes).

So to answer your question ... the best Snotling roster I think you could use is the one linked above at blood-bowl.net ... and I would not change one single thing about that roster.

Galak

If you want to use the roster for an LRB league, use the rules at blood-bowl.net. Ignore the spellcaster rules If you allow the teams secret weapons based on the new experimental secret weapon rules for BB, go with Bomb and Deathroller for the team.

Its a fun team to coach if you don't mind losing, and I like it better than any other roster I've seen and sorry this includes the one that FUMBBL uses.

Thanks, i trust you that the team is balanced as it is!

I already finding more snotlings to paint!!!
Reason why i was posting this topic was that i don´t like the Fumbbl snotling team at all....

Thanks for all your serious posts.

I also think its weird why BBRC don't want official snotlings, For Fanatic, there are more minatures to sell. Again i think that BBRC are to conservative and afraid to do something new.

One of the reasons there was a general outcry against the original 32 man team was that it won a major tournament ... Snots should be doing that.

Using the blood-bowl.net a team for the GenCon Bowl would look like:

3 Trolls (300)
Ripper (200)
12 Snotlings (240)
3 Rerolls (240)
2 FF (20)

It would be an interesting team ... but not one that I think is going to overrun the tournament.

Just a little question about the 0-32

Post by WildAnimal »

i'm almost sure that the 0-32 means that each snotling counts as a half player. BUT then again.

Can you have 32 snotlings AND 4 trolls?
or is it 4 trolls and 24 snotlings max?

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ALLOW THE TEAM 0-32 SNOTLINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Maximum team for league play should be 0-16 Snotling with 0-4 Trolls which would mean a full team would be 4 Trolls and 12 Snotlings.

If you are serious about adding the team to a league ... then you'll forget anything at all about 0-32 Snotlings. Look at the blood-bowl.net roster again ... no 0-32 anywhere ...nor should there be.

This is part of what made the original team so unbalanced. .. the ability of the team to foul EVERY turn without any fear about doing so is not one that should be allowed.

Just my two cents.

Post by WildAnimal »

you are right, that fouling bussiness, is why to uncontrolled.
0-32 should only be allowed if there are no Trolls on the team.

i would still like the 0-32 snotlings, but i can see that it would screw way to many thing apart!

Thanks for your wisdom

having a big bag of snotlings at home I'd love to try outthis team...one question regarding the Pump wagon: When it slams into a player, is it resolved as a block?
