There is a new 5.6 patch on the same download page as the original game download.

Main:
http://www.geocities.com/javabbowl/
Mirrors:
http://javabbowl.no-ip.org/
http://home.austin.rr.com/javabbowl/

The 5.6 patch adds the ability to set background colors for the player circles per race. You can also specify a background GIF to use instead of a background color. Get "sampleCircleGifs.zip" for examples. Also a few other things added.

Download the "patch5_6.zip". Unzip the contents to the original install directory. It will overwrite the "bbowl.jar", "readme.txt" files.

If you tried it today it didn't work because www.fumbbl.com is down for server upgrades/maintenance.

Its killing me...my Norse team there wants attention! :D

There is a new 5.8 patch on the same download page as the original game download.

Main:
http://www.geocities.com/javabbowl/
Mirrors:
http://javabbowl.no-ip.org/
http://home.austin.rr.com/javabbowl/

The 5.8 patch fixes the kickoff order to follow the LRB, plus some bug fixes.

Download the "patch5_8.zip". Unzip the contents to the original install directory. It will overwrite the "bbowl.jar", "readme.txt" files.

I put out a 5.8b patch with rewritten BLITZ! code. I dunno if this will fix the turn problem since I can't seem to make it happen. But now the BLITZ! code it completely seperated from other kickoff results so hopefully it will be easier to track down. Send me results .zip file from any game where BOTH computers are using 5.8b and problems occur.

P.S. The "javabbowl.no-ip.org" site will be down for about a week. So if the geocities bandwidth is exceeded go to the "home.austin.rr.com/javabbowl" site for the patch.

Also at http://witwat.net/luke/javabbowl with the usual extras, the BSD and Mac versions. While they're really completely unnecessary, they're options and mo' options == mo' bettah.

The 5.8b patch I have posted (all of the patches, in fact) has the original .jar along with those other two, so you can always use that as well. Just trash whichever two versions you aren't using.
