Though 4 blitzers would make it a lot easier to have an effective SW user :D

Dark Lord,

You want Daemon Slayers as well, thats about 15 positional players  :D  .

Only joking!

In a way I see your point, but if you were too introduce dragon slayers what stats would be looking for, if they are too similar too troll slayers then there is no point. Give us an idea of what you are thinking mate!

I did somewhere else on this board awhile back.
It's too early over here for me to find it. There was a huge debate about this already.

I think the dragon slayers could be a little stronger, like ST 4, and have the dauntless frenzy combo but also start with mighty blow like a big guy and come with wild animal or something.

I think I am with you now, so he would indeed be a direct replacement for the ogre?

Now that makes sense, I thought you were just adding another position like the Blitzers and Troll Slayers. I wouldn't mind finding that discussion, I will look for it but if you find it can you post the link here for me?

Cheers

Okay, so I went and found it...

Code: Select all

4 5 2 8 Frenzy, Dauntless, Thick Skull, Mighty Blow, Wild Animal 120K
That is probably too similar to the troll slayer. Maybe make him AG 1 and give him break tackle or something.

ST5 & Dauntless, can't quite understand this.

I would probably say ST4 but keep the AG2.

So you can get a multi block combo going fairly early...and deal with treemen etc.

Though ST 4 would probably be better. I just don't want to tone him down too much because then he just turns into a troll slayer.

Also, keep in mind, it was just something I tossed out. I din't spend hours tweaing it with a formula or anything. It was just a brain fart.

I love your terms "I tossed out" nad "brain fart", you amuse me.

But back too the topic, with ST4 and mighty blow along with Wild Animal, I think he is different enough, but I think he could probably need one extra skill, but I am not sure what, or lower his price!

You could take a look at Grim Ironjaw for more inspiration...

He's quite similar to the Dragon Slayers proposed here:

5 4 3 8 Block, Thick Skull, Frenzy, Dauntless, Mighty Blow
150,000 gps

If I remember correctly...

R

-1MA, -1AG, & gains Wild Animal = 30,000 GC.

120,000 GC

I think that seems fair!

Would he be a "Big Guy" or not?

So you'd get

Code: Select all

4 4 2 8 Block, Frenzy, Dauntless, Thick Skull, Mighty Blow, Big Guy, Wild Animal
for 120,000 gps

While this is a minotaur:

Code: Select all

5 5 2 8 Frenzy, Horns, Thick Skull, Mighty Blow, Big Guy, Wild Animal, Always Hungry, Throw Team Mate
For only 110,000 gps

Block and Dauntless are given, in return for movement, strength and horns plus 10,000 (ignoring Always Hungry + Throw Team Mate)

Maybe a different negatrait could be used; one more slayerish;

Maybe when within blocking/blitzing range of a Big Guy he needs to make a roll and if he fails he has to block/blitz that big guy or at least move into contact with it (if the teams blitz is already used or needs to be saved)

I would drop Block, and the neagatrait you have described sounds far too similar too the old wild animal skill, and basically that bad you wouldn't take a dragon slayer.

I think 4-4-2-8 Frenzy, Mighty Blow, Dauntless, Thick Skull, Big Guy, & Wild Animal = 12,000, sounds OK IMO

It doesn't sound too appealing to me. and the negatrait would only work when there are Big Guys on the field
