I forgot about that. Though I have to say is one of those rules I disagree with strongly. That was a perfectly balcanced and very fun combo.
There was no reason to outlaw it. The whole inconsistency with horns+frenzy vs. dauntless + frenzy just pisses me off too.
At any rate, like I said when I posted him the first time. The spirit is there. He should be something akin to a minotaur and called a Dragon Slayer. It's an easy fluff supported fix that would most likely be balanced.
Hell as far as I am concerned you could just give them a minotaur, replace horns with something...nerves of steel, dauntless, whatever and be done with it.

We could call it a Giant Slayer instead and send it after Galak
On a more serious note; What I think would be cool for Dwarfs is a player tooled up especially for dealing with Big Guys; more so than a mere Trollslayer. One of the requirements would be a (slightly) better survivability than the mentioned Trollslayer, for instance through giving him a higher Str. So far, this discussion is going in the right direction, I think.
Unfortunately, it's probably a useless discussion, doomed to have no effect whatsoever...

remember that Big Guys can't use team re-rolls either, although you could probably argue that slayers like him are too busy kicking the living sh*t out of stuff to bother practicing BB.
I definitely think dwarfs need to lose their Ogre rights, but I'm still not entirely convinced they need a replacement. After all, if they don't have an ogre their linemen will advance quicker and will get guard and mighty blow pretty fast - an entire frickin' front line of guarding mighty blowers (oo-er) would scare the crap out of me.

Ever seen one? I haven'y. Not even in all the years my league ran 3rd with no big guys. And with the 2nd level at 16 spp's now I seriously doubt you ever will. Most dwarf teams end up with about 3 or 4 long beards with guard and maybe 1 or 2 with mighty blow.
I'd actually like to see every team have some sort of "big guy". A player that excels at one aspect but sucks at all others. Ogres and trolls can hit but nothing else. Dwarfs could have a guy that takes them down. Elves could have a guy that throws well etc etc.
