We agreed earlier that the player has to be carring the ball to earn the thrower a possible completition point.

AG2 is irrelevant most of the time because of tackle zones and throwing distance. Also Ogres are going to be removed from Goblin and Orc Teams. So Goblins, Halflings and Orcs are Stuck with AG1 throwers, only the new Ogre Team has AG2.

AG2 is not irrelevant. I wont believe Ogres are being removed from Orcs, Gobbos and 'flings until I see it.

If you can get 1 SPP for chucking a goblin people will do it all the time at the end of halves etc (just to get the extra point). So Ogres will be throwing needing 5+ for accurate quick passes.

In a league game I might sacrifice the whole game to reorganize my players! This happens quite often in our league and it's not only me doing that. If I am 3:0 down and won't win anyway, but if my ogre has 5 SPP, I will rather try to gain another point somehow so that he gains a skill!

If I am qualified for the playoffs already or don't have any chance to reach them any more I usually tend to field some players close to their next skill advance and try to make some plays with them, even if I spoil a victory

Many open doors to throw stunties around in your own backfield in order to improve your big guy this way!
