Team Reroll

Post by garoned »

i was wondering if it's possible to fail a roll automatically just because you want to.
What happened (when i played with my goblin troll team against a dwarf team ) was that i was actually winning 1-0 but the dwarves were pretty close to scoring running down the side when i tried to throw one of my gobbos so he could land in front of the dwarf or push him away but what happened the gobbo actually landed "properly" so i wanted to use my TR to fail but the bloody dwarf coach insisted that i could only use a TR when i fail a roll.
So to cut a long story short we went for 1-3 yes 4-6 no rule (wtg 2 !!! ).
Any thoughts?

It's absolutely ok to re-roll a successful roll. If you look up the rules for re-rolls in the LRB it says you can re-roll any action done by your players, it says nothing about that this action had to be a failure to do so. In fact some coaches re-roll successfully caught bouncing balls bc it bounced on the wrong player (usually the player who blitzed the ball loose).

You can reroll a success. A common example is if one of your players catches a bouncing ball and they have already moved, so rerolling the catch to fail allows you try to get the ball free so you can do something with it.

But you can't choose to automatically fail a roll. Dices have to be rolled and the result stands. As already said, you can use a RR, but if the second roll succeeds as well you can't do anything against it.

As have been said allready, you can use a team reroll to reroll succesful dice rolls.

Can you use up a Team Re-Roll and not reroll?

Like you dodge, and roll, and then maybe fail or so, can you use up a reroll and decide not to do the action at all. Like you didnt do that dodge, but still the reroll is "taken".

According to the rules, I would say it is not allowed...

Remember though that skill-rerolls (dodge, catch, sure hands, sure feet and pass) only allow you to reroll if you failed.
But team rerolls can be used as proposed.
