OK, tomorrow i have to registrate for the league.

I m quite sure, i will try my luck with the roster:

2 BO
4 Blitzer
3 Lineorcs
1 Thrower
1 Goblin
RR 3
FF 8
TR 100

I stay away from Big Guys like troll or ogre, because i dont have experiences at all with this kind of players. And i need something faster than Blackorcs or linemen. So the blitzers ?

Any comments ?

I usually start with 3 BO's and 3 Blitzers but your roster looks good. I'd watch the goblin for awhile because as your only one he will have a target painted on his back very soon.
If I start with gobbos (which I usually don't do) I start with 2 and a Troll.
I prefer to buy the goblins after the team is developed a little bit and I don't have to worry about starting the second half with only 9 players on the pitch.

Well, i got my first opponent, a Undead Team:

2 Mummies
2 Wights
2 Ghouls
4 Zombies
1 Scelly with... argh, chainsaw.
RR 3
FF 9

As a kind of training I will play some JavaBB against myself with this rosters over the weekend.

BTW I´m using Tim´s Halfling scribe exel sheet for watching the whole league.

And i´m fastpainting my third BO right now... hm, wondering how big will be the differents to my old BOs as i painted them maybe 8 years ago

A skellie with a chainsaw, so I the skellie goes down, he'll effectively have an AV of 4...

I'd be more worried about those mummies.

Just either get his mummies down or stay away from them. (As a third alternative you could distract them with an Orc Lineman)
And hit his ghouls as hard as you can; they don't regenerate and they only have AV7, take them out!
Beware of Wights; they may not seem to good, but they are just as fast and agile as a human or a ghoul (ok, slightly slower than a ghoul), and in my team wights were the main scorers!

Good luck!

Hit the ghouls with the blitzers and don't worry too much about the skeleton with saw - it ought to take ~3 turns to get going and once it does its only the gobbo and throwers you need to keep away from it.

I'd try to ignore the mummies - drag them out of position chasing Orc linemen or something.

Well, first game ended right now....argh.

Here the pitch, beer cold, everything ready to play.

http:// www.ruediger-rickassel.de/picts/firstgame00.jpg

Ok, i played against a undead team. And i learned the hard way the strengh 5 of those damm mummies ! :o

First half, undead are the receiving team, i got this perfect defence from the Kickoff table, but i put my orcs still on wrong positions... My BOs were biting into the bandages of the mummies, the mummies kept flating my BOs... argh. No way though to get the ball. On turn 5 4 of my players were KO, 1 injured.

http:// www.ruediger-rickassel.de/picts/firstgame03.jpg

Well, i killed his skeleton , the one with the chainsaw, but for this damm regenerate skill, it come back ! But just the look of my opponents face on this turn was worth this blitz.

http:// www.ruediger-rickassel.de/picts/firstgame04.jpg

he protected his ball carrier well and most of my team were flated anyway...

1:0

Second half:

Of those 5 KOs or injured just 3 coming back at the second half. And great... i got this kickoff event " Throw a rock" and, hard to believe,... one of my blitzers was killed by a stone. BY A STONE !!! And no apothecary... tatatata
Another blitz of one of my remaining blitzers and his wight went home with a smashed hand. Good for his next opponent. But not enough good for me ...

http:// www.ruediger-rickassel.de/picts/firstgame01.jpg

There was this last chance pass i was trying, because no way with this few players to break through. My thrower succeded to dodge, well, he did it with a reroll... than 2x go for it to get into a good position, and now, yes, a perfect throw, and this damm gobbo didnt catch the ball  One more catch and one more dogde and a TD for me. But no... ball lost. No chance anymore.

http:// www.ruediger-rickassel.de/picts/firstgame02.jpg

My BO got seperated... and later fouled a lot ... but he survived. :smoking:

Final 2:0

Well, that was a fun game for me anyway. Also my opponent told me, that i got also very bad luck with my dices. I exchange dices already...

Thanks to all the help here. But it´s true, on the pitch you are alone... and only with the luck of the dice.

Beautiful paint jobs, and I love the storytelling method for the game. Please keep up the game pictures, and try to keep the BO's out of the KO box...

Considering the Agile league you're in, I'd definately go for tackle.

I agree. Tackle is invaluable. You'll probably need it on 2-3 of your blitzers. Guard is a great secondary skill, if you don't roll doubles.

I like Tackle on all my blitzers - MA 6 always seems too low. 2nd skill Guard. But then I like a more running than bashing game.

Hm, thanks for the " tackle" advices...

i got three more questions, please.

- For the SSPs i rolled a four, thats a new Skill. Now i can choose for my orc Blitzer one skill from the General or Strengh skills, right ?

- As i wrote before, one of my blitzers was killed by a rock, thrown by a fan. As my Opponent played a Undead team... can he raise my orc as Zombie for his team ? I dont think so, as he didnt kill him with any player of his team.

- On my last game i , hm, my players, were fouled a lot. Argh...
I´m not sure, if my opponent explained this right to me:
After the foul, the fouling coach rolls, if the ref saw him.
If he dont roll a "1", he can proceed as normal. He do not get this "IGMEOY" ... he just get it, when he was cought ? So when the next foul from him, he still needs 2-6 to escape the ref ?
I thought, after a foul he get the "IGMEOY", doesnt matter, if he was cought or not. So his next attemp to foul is more risky (3-6 to succed) ?!
