You don't Have to the rules allow you to decline the +ST if you wish.
If you did that you may treat the roll as doubles and take a skill from the passing or strength charts...
But I myself even highly reccomend keeping the +1 ST on this player.
(And I do turn down some ST boosts in the LRB 5.0)
There is also a large crowd around that will tell you the +1 ST is the answer.

Too bad you're only playing 10 games. That guy is Griff-O in the making.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

There are very few times to turn down a strength increase! And certainly not on a High Elf Catcher.
Choose the +1 strength, get him block and dodge, and protect him for as long as possible!
Now here would be the tough question... If he rolled a double 5 next... what to take? +1 AV, +1 MA, block, dodge, guard, mighty blow....?

Hmm, I think it says something more along the lines of "Kick Me"
In a long league, I'd agree with no second thoughts. In a short league, I'd be cautious about having this player around too long without Block or Dodge!

I thought it a given but you never know. Anyway i like to share
Good News/Bad News
Good News: we allocate the MVP* in our league to any player scoring an SPP that game
Bad News: i'm playing an Orc team next and i start with only 11 players incl 1 Journey Elf and he has 230k in Inducements
Good News: i have an Apoth!
I agree that the Catcher will be a target but wha tcan you do? I don't have any Guard yet - my only Blitzer is likely to be bodyguarding him for the game
* i'm not sure allocating MVPs was a good idea. It was done to maintain interest as the league fizzled out a bit last year. Still, it means my ST4 Catcher is getting Block next game provided he gets a TD v the Orcs (he's currently on 8 SPP). We also have a ST4 WW on Necros and i don't want to talk about the Woodie WDs

Well, if you are giving up that much in inducements to an orc team, he must not have guard either. You should be able to run cirlces around him. Just dodge, dodge and then dodge.darren woodward wrote:Thanks fellas
