GutterRunner Skills

Post by Zyad »

After this game, i was lucky enough to have 2 of my gutter runners get a new skill. Both already have block, and are on their second skill. I am not quite sure whether to get them strip ball, side step, diving tackle, shadowing, or another skill i havent even thought of. (I already have a GR with dauntless, if thats important)

side step on both, will protect them, allow you to play along the line, and will prepare the terrain for you to get Diving Tackle and Shadowing (one on each ;)), which will turn your GRs into real poisons.

Catch on one, sidestep on the other, save a reroll

You don't play Elves very often do you, Gus?

I love Sidestep. I'm also really fond of Sure Hands. The insurance against Strip Ball is sure nice and the Reroll on the pickup doesn't hurt either, expecially if there are TZ on it.

sidestep will make them more useful

specially if you take shadowing next

try moving 2 blodge sideteppers with shaodwing off the ball carrier

Rarely, but when u do, chances are its crucial. Consider it insurance against pouring rain and passblock.

@ gus + sean newboy: I´ve had a phase, where every attempt to catch the ball with a GR collapsed. It ended by giving "catch" to one of them.

When you have one with dauntless (it is important :-? ) than I would try to train one more defensive and give sidestep to him and later shadowing.

The other:
In my opinion you should try to get one of these mostly hated One-turn-scorers  and give sprint to him.

well, as for the one turner, ill go for one of those if i get a movement increase... it would be a waste if i gave sprint to one of them, and the other one got the movement increase...

i dont do much throwing where i would need catch, so im probably gonna go with side step, unless someone can convince me otherwise...

 I still find it hard to believe that you don't roll 1s when you use your AG4.

i do, of course, as everyone. but i find that catch is a waste as compared to shadowing or DT, or more important sidestep.

And what about leap in one of the Gr?, you can go anywhere (for example near the ball carrier). Or to escape from any trap.

imho that's better if you keep leap on a GR who already rolled a doubles and took Big Hand.

I'd give both sidestep.
It protects them, you can run them down the sidelines and set people up for a rat ogre induced meet and greet with the skaven fans, and helps you create good defensive players when you get DT/shadowing.
And two blodge/sidestep and DT or shadowing players is far better than one.

The only problem is that you want a big hands/leap GR, a dauntless/horns GR and an one turn scorer as well. Four just isn't enough.
