Development advise needed for +AG DE Thrower
Hi,
My new thrower picked up his first skill roll and got +1AG
How should I develop him?
I've only had him for 2 matches (and he missed most of the first due to injury!) and he has 1 completion plus the MVP.
I've been fairly successful without a thrower over the last 10 or so games and I'm not sure that I know how to use him to get maximum advantage.
I was thinking of developing him as a scorer instead or maybe a ball handler, as he could dodge with ease, maybe give him dodge or dump off as skills, but the temptation to develop him as a long bomb threat is quite big too...
Any ideas?
Regards,
Spiky

well, i see two ways myself:
- hardcore thrower: (not in recommended order) safe throw, accurate, strong arm on doubles, sure feet (to get to a far ball), sure hands if you don't like sure feet and want to prevent turnovers (that CAN occur even on a 2+ roll
)
- hardcore retriever: leap, sure hands, dodge, NoS on doubles

Gotta go thrower...he already has pass so why not continue along those lines?
He is the perfect player to break out of a mess with the ball and deliver it to a receiver downfield.
So I would concentrate on passing/ball handling skills and skills that will keep him from being hurt too easily.
He will probably get some TD's but I would concentrate on using him to deliver the ball to your other players so that they can progress as well. This is a great player to use to get any rookies on your team SPP to get skilled up.

I agree with bubb ... he has the potential to be an awesome thrower.
You can develop one of your blitzers as a ball retriever. Give him Accurate next, and you have a player who can throw Long Bombs on a 3+, and everything else on a 2+. With a reroll.
Just having him on the pitch is going to make your opponent have a fit - he will change the way he defends. You don't necessarily even have to give him the ball!
That is the beauty of this kind of player ... he is a passive threat. Simply by existing he can win you a game.

definitely make him a passer.
Give him accurrate, and then strong arm on doubles, and he can throw long bombs on a 2+ with the re roll. Sure hands and safe throw are also good, expecially sure hands with ag5, letting him pick up the ball in a few tz's, dodge out, and throw a long bomb on a 2+ that can only be intercepted if the intercept roll passes AND you roll a 1 on the afe throw roll.
For me, the perfect thrower is: AG5, Strong Arm, Accurrate, Safe Throw, Sure Hands, NoS, Dodge (Assuming you can get that many doubles, and the ag increase
)
Go along those lines and you really cannot go wrong.

Have a look at FUMBBL's Top 10 Dark Elf passers - nearly all have Ag bonuses:
