I have a Dark Elf thrower in the PBEMBBL who also picked up +1 AG for his first skill. I went with Sure Hands for his second skill and I'm seriously considering leap for his third, unless I get doubles (which will probably lead to Nerves of Steel)
The AG 5 makes him a damn fine passer of the ball even without Accurate or Strong Arm. He's making Long Passes on a 3+, with the Pass reroll, and if you combine that with a long run and a hand off by another player than you can pretty much cover the entire pitch. On offence he can get the ball and hang back out of blitz range, keeping the ball under your control until the rest of your players are ready to try and score the TD
I think leap is the way to go to get to those hard to reach balls and get out again. AG 5 means that your opponent needs at least 2TZ on the ball before it becomes a 3+ pickup, for which Sure Hands can give you the reroll

Even if you are passing on a 3+ long bomb with ag5, you are still fumbling on a 2... with strong arm, the only way you can fumble that long pass is on a 1.

The more I experiment with leaping, especially with AG 5, the more interesting it becomes. Offensively and defensively I've found it a very useful skill, and if my player has already leapt its because I considered it his best option

I'd recommend considering strong arm if your AG 5 thrower rolls doubles, although I think there is a pretty good argument for Nerves of Steel on a double as well.

as a thrower for sure, sure hands next, then accurate then if you get a double strong arm. these are the exact stats for my darkie thrower and as nazgit said just having him on the pitch gives you the edge.

when i looked like loosing i may of, but not any more.
Accurate, strong arm if doubles. The perfect thrower. Sure hands when you've got the other habilities. Nerves of Steel it's another good option if you got another doubles.
I gave my AG5 thrower StrongArm next. Never regretted it, as mentioned above, your opponents play diffently when you can throw the ball on a 3+ longbomb.

I am going for safethrow-surehands next.

if you don't intend to give him accurate, then you've just wasted a doubles. Strong Arm is worse than Accurate on every point and every situation, and is only great when both are combined. if you intend to give only one, you would have made a better choice by using the doubles on something else.
I know leaping with Ag 5 is very tempting but I'd definitely send a blitzer down the ball retrieval route. The extra movement will help them get to the ball and make it more difficult for the opponent to avoid or exploit. With move 6 I can envisage failed gfis as you jump in a cage followed by an Ag 5 thrower getting a complete kicking. But maybe I've learnt my lesson on leaping having played Wood Elves too much.
I wasn't thinking of using him as a 'sack the ball carrier' player - more of a 'jump in, grab the ball and chuck it away' type of play on defence, if the ball happened to pop loose.
I have a blitzer with dodge, leap and stripball for the first bit!
The only problem I'd have with this type of play is that it guarantees the guy a pounding if I don't score in the same turn.
Passing skills........you have way more than enough players on that roster to pop balls out of cages and enough threats that you shouldn't fear too much concentration on this guy...
