+MA on dwarves is great, but that's off-topic.

OT

To Gus

Your right on dwarves it is good it adds a mobility factor to the game. Sometimes though on MA4 players a trait overrules the +1MA. But thats just my opinion

If that trait is Stand Firm it adds to the mobility anyways.

stand firm on a 'fighter' with AG2 hardly adds to mobility, because it is often more advantageous to hit than to try to move. and to move with MA4 means you cannot "go around" a player, so the possibilities are not that great.
still, i agree, but 5+5 are always hard rolls ;)

Stand firm means you can dodge without risk (even if it is a 4+ or 5+). Add break tackle on a mummy and you have someone who can run into a cage and whack the ball carrier - if he's close enough :D

:-? You aren't necessarily standing next to anyone - many teams have a tactic of not standing next to mummies if they can help it.

Sometimes there are better targets to hit too - like ones carrying the ball. :D

true, but i was reacting to the slightly OT part about dwarves (hence the reference to AG2 in my quote) ;)

On my team my 4 mummy's rolled a low double (2-2,4-4) so I got frenzy for all and they'r doing just fine, now all have block n' frenzy!

If you were thinking of taking the +MA (personally i'd take Dodge to make him even harder to knock down) maybe you should instead consider Sure Feet, since that would make his GFI's safer, making his MA 5 (kinda).

I would take the +MA.
On other doubles I would prefer standfirm because combined with guard you will have a very solid line.

Frenzy could be fine but if your players doesn't stand perfect you might get into drouble even with ST5.

I wouldn't go for the +ma at all...congratulations, you're now as fast as a black orc!

mummies are slow, it's a law of nature. learn to live with that aspect, and find a better use for the doubles roll. i'd go with frenzy, especially because in a sick perverted sense, frenzy increases a mummies movement as well.

either that or leap :P

Okay, I am one of the unfortunate coaches who actually rolled what we discuss here: a 5+5 on a khemry mummy with block.
I don't consider frenzy, because it doesn't really add a new dimension to my game: I throw a lot of blocks anyway, and can thrwo 3-dice-blocks if I have to get another player down - so there's little need for it.

Dodge and standfirm help me if I get blocked, but my mummies don't get blocked very often. These skills are however very useful combined with breaktackle, as they allow me to doge a lot (and mobility is crucial for me). On the other hand, instaed of dodging I usually pound my opponents into the cas-box....

So what else remains: +1 ma ... and ... diving tackle. Seriously, diving tackle is one of the skills I found most useful on one of my scellies. It helps me to get some blocks more (not all enemies can simply dodge away) and reduces my opponents mobility. It's also nice to blitz the other cage and put a st5-divingtackler-tacklezone on the ballcarrier.

Has anyone ever given diving tackle to a mummy ? Any experiences ?
Or at least any comments from theoretical speculation ?

My current ranking is:
1. diving tackle
2. +1movement
3. standfirm
4. dodge
