ST5 saurus development

Post by Juggernaut »

I have a lucky ST5 saurus and I am thinking about his next development.
There are 3 different ways, I think:

1) Break Tackle, Block - to make him perfect cage breaker and blitzer
2) Block, Mighty Blow - to make him killer like Big Guy (to have 2 of them  )
3) Block, Guard - to make him a big unpassable wall

I like the first one most, but maybe U have different opinions - any advise is welcome.
I don't think U need to know about other players in team. Maybe just that I have AG4+sidestep skink, too. Those are the players I want to make a team around.

I bet you wish your league used the skill Juggernaut ;)

It would go well with combo #1

Personally, I would take Block next (unless I rolled doubles) to make sure he stays alive longer. then I would go with Break Tackle on another normal skill. I would take Stand Firm on doubles. Keeps him safe from those sidelines.

well. there is one thing I forgot to write - we play Vault rules, so I can use Juggernaut and Stand Firm on normal skill, too. So I can give him Block, Stand Firm, Break Tackle for being perfect player, but that is a long way to go as now he has only 10SPP. I want to plan only 1, max. 2 skills for him.
Break Tackle makes him dangerous for the cages, thats why I wrote it first, block will follow, I hope.

Break tackle - have same on my vault side.

Its great as you can dodge in - potentially distrupt a cage, have a powerfull saftey, can utilise st5 more often, may not need block as higher strength than most, scare people by blitzing into the back of a cage. Far more than just a block - guard player.

yep then juggernaught for added ability to push - or maybe frenzy.

I'd go Break Tackle, Block and have a cage wrecking machine.
Just to be sure (if you take Stand Firm) you do know that all Stand firm does in the vault rules is stop you being pushed back on blocks, the 'not fall over on a dodge roll' part has been removed.

First of all, congratulations! I have a STR 5 Saurus too, and I have been thinking about skill progression as well. Block and break tackle seem the way to go!

No doubt about it. Go with BreakTackle. Never played lizzies myself but have played quite a few games vs them.

Also a cage distruptor - which is kinda different thing. A wardancer can threaten a cage with stripball and a leap. But a strength five player can just continue to sit and fight - a wardancer really wont last two turns in that role! Consider a blitz from the back - and keep rest of team in front. Total team pressure due to the distruptor

U mean a blitz on ball carrier, or just a member of the cage?
