Buy a Thrower and a Lineman. You need a deeper bench, especially you need to be able to leave a catcher in the reserves on defense if you know it will be a long and brutal defense.

BTW: Selling your Blitzer for 1/4 of its value is a house rule in your league?

if i was the CD player i'd have taken most of the 2nd half to score with that no of KOs etc you had
yep... i would do the same but he stalled the game because his team is more build for CASs than for TDs. At last thats what he did the last games :D And he didnt knew, how many of my players would come back after "just" KOs and no CASs for him. Maybe after my TwoTurns TD in the beginning he was afraid of my catcher/blitzers...

Yep... just selling one you will get the half and one injured brings you at last 1/4 of the price :D

Tough luck with the knockouts. BUt be happy, that no lasting damage was done. Losing a game doesnt really hurt too bad, does it?

given your progress he should be kicking himself that he didn't do more to weaken you.

I assume that there is every chance of you meeting up towards the end of the season. You should have out distanced him in spp's and team organisation by then.

I would say that you need to work on your Dirty Players to get rid of the bulls and mino.

or if you run bounties in your league, use some of the cash to encourage the others to do that for you.

Yep... the return games will start now. So in 7 games i will meet the CDs again. No more bounties in my local league this year... better so IMO.
Buy a Thrower and a Lineman
I bought a fourth lineman now after the last game. 12 players plus apo ready to roll... no nigglings ! :D And now i´m thinking about to buy a third catcher or second thrower... better a catcher to build up some reserve or better a second thrower to have a replacement for the single thrower i got now ? I would prefer a second thrower.... opinions ?

After the last nice games i´m painting this team even with more fun...

I`d pick a second thrower - "one of a kind is a target, two of a kind is a threat". Seeing, that you got two catchers already, I would go with the thrower.

Definitely 2nd Thrower. You only have one and if he is injured this greatly reduces your offensive options.
2 Catchers is plenty, you don't need more. As they have ST2 they are a potential liability, especially if you are already men down.

This has been a really good thread with a lot of good info.

Wonder if I should make a thread like this for my new vampire team, my first game with them is today sometime. I've only played Orc / Goblin teams before this.

What do you guys think?

Edit: figured I should throw in an opinion since I pulled a minor hijack. I'd probably go with the 2nd thrower, I've ran my orc team with only 1 thrower for awhile now and while I don't rely on him *that much* It definately stings when he is KO'ed for awhile or gets CAS out early.

I would go for accurate on one thrower and the other I would develop with block.
I would suggest Kick on the lineman so that you can bring the offence in more trouble because you can place the ball deep or on their weak side.

Just my oppinion.

I might actually try something else: Kick on your second thrower. At first sight it might look like a skill wasted on a position, but think about it for a moment. With four blitzers, one thrower, two catchers and "Troll" on pitch, that leaves exactly three spots open for linemen.

I dont know about your starting setup on defense, but I will just assume the following: Oger on the line, together with two linemen, 4 blitzers guarding the wings. That leaves the two catchers, your thrower and a lineman to bolster your defensive center (or maybe switch two blitzers with the catchers, to gain a stronger center). If this assumption is (mostly) correct, than consider the following: Instead of one thrower, use two on defense, replacing one lineman. This lineman takes block instead of kick and can thus be used on the LOS next to the ogre. Your second (newly acquired) thrower takes kick and block after that (third skill might well be dump-off), adopting a purley defensive role, as opposed to your first thrower, who should invest in passing skills.

This replaces a lineman for a position, which to me seems to be a good idea. Then again, what seems to be a good idea to me, clearly resembles utter madness to others, so take this with a grain of salt or two.

Setup for defence is mostly like you wrote:
First Line... the ogre and the two dead meat lineman... one with block now. :)
Second line of defence ... outfields: Lineman and blitzer... in the middle: the other two blitzers.
Third line: catcher (dauntless and Block now :) ) and thrower

On defence i would exchange the catcher now with the second thrower because of ST and Armor. About kick... with a +2 MA and a +1 MA Blitzers it would be fun to go for a "bad placed" ball  ... i have to think about it.

BTW... 8 of my 11 players got block right now ! :D
