LRB5 Rookie Saurus get's a 5/5 for skill roll.

Post by Darkson »

Rookie saurus rolls a 5/5 for his first skill, so what to take?

+AV seems a little overkill, +1MA sounds great, but relies on him getting enough SPP soon to take BT to make use of it, and then he'd still be without Block, and ditto for Dodge. Leader?

Rest of team:
Krox
2 Block Saurus
1 unskilled Saurus
1 Saurus 5/5
1 Block Skink
3 Side Step Skinks
2 unskilled Skinks

3 RR, 1 Coach, 1 CL, 3 FF, Apo.

Also, 80K in bank - Skink or Saurus?

Well, if I'm going to waste the doubles, I'll just take Block.

What about Sidestep? A sidestepping Saurus could be a pain. Jump Up also maybe?

My bad thought frenzy was a double skill, possibly because im playing on fumbbl a fair bit.

Dodge would keep him on his feet and possibly allow him to make use of BT if you get enough SPP for it. But would mean him not having block until a lot further on in his development. Side step would make him really annoying if you gave him guard as his 2nd skill providing he got there for the assists.

It'll slow your development a bit at first, but Dodge is golden if it is a longer league. Blodging Sauruses are a real pain and when they hit their third skill and get break tackle, they become a terror as a highly mobile blitzer.

I would also go for the Dodge - break tackle combo.

He can go everywhere to make his needed blitz.

First skill up, I'd probably ignore it. Saurus skill up so slowly that you shouldn't plan much beyond 2 skills and although break tackle dodge is nice, break tackle with frenzy or tackle is also nice.

Always buy Saurus over skinks, in fact I'd probably not buy skinks until I had a full compliment of Saurus. They skill up too slowly to miss any opportunity to get MVPs.

Block or Side Step.

Ignore it and take Block. If he already had BT Dodge would be awesome, but he might not get skill 2 for 20 games and then it would be a waste.

Leader for me.

It's not like a unskilled saurus is a liability.
And with 60k rerolls Leader is very much a viable option.
And you don't want it to use your double with a Skink or a Kroxigor.

So Leader.

I think i'd get BT and ignore the double, just to get a mobile blitzer.

Blockless sauri are annoying when they turnover, but then so is not being able to blitz the ball carrier cos you are AG1 and in a TZ (although i'd imagine your block skink would help there).

And another saurus over the skink, skinks are pretty good without skills, sauri need some development to be great, so want those MVPs.

I think I'd go ahead and give him Break Tackle. You don't have a mobile Saurus yet. Dodge isn't bad to help keep him on his feet. So, one of those two.

And buy another Saurus. You've got enough skinks to use. I've always had the most trouble with Lizard teams that loaded up on the strength players.

I would ignore the Double and take Block or Break Tackle.
Sidestep or Dodge would be nice, but only as a second or third skill.

AND maximise on Sauri first. You can always take a Journeyskink!

Cheers!
