Remember that line elves are roughly equivalent to rookie human thrower in terms of passing ability, as well as picking up the ball. Plenty good enough for TR100. Get the thrower later.

1/6 chance of failing isn't too close to 1/9 (chance of Human thrower either picking up the ball or passing a quick pass).wesleytj wrote:Remember that line elves are roughly equivalent to rookie human thrower in terms of passing ability, as well as picking up the ball. There's no reason this has to be true. Once he skills up, give him SH and make him a pinch chucker: if you get scored on before your Turn 7 and need a 2-minute drill, you've got him. Otherwise, you always maintain a passing rotation, using your Thrower to handle the ball only when you don't have a TRR and must score in two turns, or when you're banged up and just don't have a lino to spare. If you don't have a TRR but do have a SH Thrower, that just means you're making an extra pass, and should probably involve a Catcher at some point (three 35/36 checks is easier than one 1/6 check, and worth a SPP to boot).wesleytj wrote:The problem with starting with a thrower in a league is that he takes away all your completion SPPs. You should spread them around to line elves, that way whoever gets the MVP can get a skill.
